Being a Canadian I have been searching for a perfect maple tea… and I think I may have just found it. As soon as I opened this up and I was hit with the delicious aroma of maple. Once brewed there is a nice smokiness from the tea base that helps offset the sweetness of the maple. I found all the of the flavors worked with one another and this one was best enjoyed once it cooled to around room temperature. If you are a fan or even remotely like maple, this is definite must try!

Very surprised by this one. The dry leaf was nice but just okay, but once brewed – yum! This tastes just like German chocolate cake … if it were a tea. The blend is spot on and is incredibly smooth from start to finish. I drank this one straight and can’t wait to try the latte recipe!

The description of this tea uses the word luxurious, which cannot be more appropriate. From the moment I opened the box I was immediately hit with the beautiful floral fragrance of this tea. Once brewed, the cream and rose flavors play off one another perfectly. The Glenburn Silver Needle base is incredibly interesting not only for its profile that naturally adds another layer of floral and nuttiness but also adds a bubbly, tingly sensation on the tongue. This choice of white tea is divine all on its own and blending it with this choice of flavors is just perfection. If you call yourself a tea lover, this is a must try!

As soon as I read the description of this tea I new it would be a winner. From the moment I opened this tea I was immediately hit with the absolutely wonderful aroma of almond and cookie. Once brewed the almond flavor is dominate but pairs perfectly with the cookie and coconut flavors. I applaud the use of a green base as it acts to pull together the tea without overpowering or taking away from the overall flavor profile. All in all, this is a stunning tea that is true to its name and is a wonderful treat!

This is hands down my favorite Oolong blend. It’s so smooth and full of rich flavors that I can’t get enough of it. Pairing pumpkin with both vanilla and Castleton Moonlight Darjeeling oolong was a marvelous move. All of the flavors play off of one another so much so that even after several cups I am discovering new layers within this delicious tea. This is an absolute must have!

Given the detailed description of this tea I had rather high expectations and was not disappointed. There are so many layers in this tea which transform as the tea cools adding even more depth. I could detect floral sweet notes that were followed by a earth, smokey and slightly astringent finish. I agree that this is indeed a strong leaf and recommend dropping to 1 teaspoon in order to truly appreciate all of the wonderful layers this tea has to offer.

For those who like it hot, this is definitely the tea for you! The combination of cayenne pepper and cinnamon create this bold yet savory heat that pairs perfectly with the sweetness of the banana. The choice of Gunpowder green was an ingenious choice as it adds just the right amount of smokey goodness to the brew. My hats off to whomever dreamed up this mix as it’s beyond addicting and makes a truly amazing cup.

I was in need of an extra boost this morning and this tea was just calling to me. Given all of the citrus flavors I was surprised at how well they all worked together. At first sip the lemon and lime were at the forefront with the orange and pineapple coming through at the back of the palate. With each sip more of the orange flavoring came through and really melded with the lemon. It was an especially busy morning so my tea ended up getting cold on me but wow, the flavor really popped once cooled. This leads me to think that this tea would be incredible iced and I just can’t wait to give it a try. :)

The name of this tea is rather fitting as it is a thing of Beauty. After several cups I am still picking up on new subtle notes that just make this such a wonderful tea. For me the rich honey and fruity layers were most dominate and makes we want to describe this as a gourmet orange pekoe – but that wouldn’t do this tea justice. At the back of the palate some woodsy almost smokey flavors are detected which just adds further depth to this blend. I have found that unlike most Oolong teas, my first steep was hands down the best with subsequent steeps falling a bit flat. This is likely due to most of the honey notes dissipating after the initial steep. Even with this said, this tea is wonderfully crafted and will be given a permanent spot in my cupboard.

Given the popularity of 52teas Genmaicha blends I was surprised that there haven’t been any tasting notes yet and there was still some left in stock. I have to admit that when I first heard about this new blend I wasn’t sure about it. Now having received this as part of my subscription I can’t get enough of it! The raspberry and blackberry combination works so well with the nutty Genmaicha base. The pairing brings out the lovely sweetness from the berries while the nuttiness of the base pulls it all together. With the use of the dried fruit you get an almost cake or cookie like flavoring which is heavenly! This a keeper and I will be scooping up a bunch for sure (for those who like this one, sorry for being a greedy piggy)
