drank Caramel by Adagio Teas

Just tried a second steeping of this, combined with a little of Adagio’s “Chestnut,” and I think I may have found my favorite combination. Delicious and very comforting. Just the thing for a cold January morning.

While this certainly smelled and tasted fruity, I couldn’t help feel a little let down, since it was the first Adagio black tea I didn’t absolutely love. It’s fine, and I will drink the rest of the sample bag without complaint, but there was nothing remarkable about it either. When I compare this to the rich, full-bodied Chestnut or Irish Breakfast, today’s mug comes off like peach-flavored hot water. Maybe this will be better over ice. I will probably try the rest of the sample cold, to see if I like it any better.

Flavors: Apricot, Peach

Had some of this tea tonight while trying to “use up” a few of my old teabags. After this awful experience, the rest of this is going straight in the trash. Did not like. Smelled revolting, tasted worse. I know there’s no real tea in this, but whatever there is, is not pleasant. It tastes like medicine. Only worse.

I didn’t think I would like this tea, as I’m a wimpy girl and usually prefer the sweeter, “dessert” teas. But this one really surprised me. Yes, I took it with almond milk and sweetener, but it was still MUCH more delicious than I expected. Nothing fancy or unusual about the flavors, just a yummy black tea that had me feeling sad when my mug was empty. I will definitely buy this one again.

Currently my favorite tea! It’s smooth, nutty, with a hint of a maple finish. I drink it with vanilla almond milk. I wouldn’t change anything about it!

Flavors: Maple, Nutty, Sweet

I love flavored teas, especially black “dessert-like” teas, or teas I can make dessert-like with the addition of almond milk and truvia. Yes, I’m that girl that never orders her coffee black, and instead gets the double mocha on ice with whipped soy cream and almond shavings. Hey, that’s what I love, and I’m not afraid to embrace it! I’m on the warpath to sample as many new teas as my budget (and husband) will allow, and am pretty much working my way through the entire Adagio catalog at the moment.

I almost always hate chamomile or any blend with chamomile in it, and have detested every single Earl Grey I’ve tried (sorry…I’ve tried quite a few!).

I am lucky to live and work in the fantastic city of Portland, and I’m vegan.
