Dearest Dragonfruit Devotion,

I am sooo tired and feeling uninspired to push through the last stretch of writing this infernal presentation. Can you possibly come to my aid? Might you be able to cheer me up with your rosey pink color and rich fruity taste? I could really use a morale boost right now and I think you are up to the task.

P.S. Are you available to help me with my taxes this weekend also?

Stuck at work. Feeling pretty bleh about being at work and the long night of work ahead of me. Had a sample bag of this and gave it a whirl. It smelled great: strong blackberry fragrance with a touch of sage. Then, I got to tasting it….bleh. All of the flavors are very weak, including the underlying black tea. It isn’t offensive, but it has nothing to offer me either. I will not be buying this one. Alas, back to…you guessed it….work!

this tea is so much better loose leaf from the company, with whole dried blackberries…I love to steep it into cream and make custards from it

TeaLush

That’s good to know. I wasn’t thinking about how having it bagged might be weakening the taste. I’ll have to give it another try when some loose leaf comes my way.

This was my starter tea, I always had a canister of it on hand and I love it. Do try the looseleaf. You might find it to be delicious.

Kashyap

if you send me an address I can send you a sample

Thanks Kashyap!

Ohhhhh…Sullivan! How I love your bold, malty, caffeiny goodness early in the morning when I’ve only had 5 hours of rain-interrupted sleep! You are a reliable Irish workhorse. Thank you!

I have this in both sizes: 16 oz and 32 oz. I love these and use them repeatedly throughout the day. Both of mine have been getting a thorough work out of over 3 months and are showing no signs of wear and tear. They work as well today as when I first bought them. This is what made tea workable again for me given the convenience of use and no more tea leaves in my cup (like I get with tea balls and other methods).

I’ve been drinking this while trying to write a talk I don’t want to give on Thursday. It has been a bright spot in my work slog. That being said, I’m tired enough right now that the exact words to describe it are escaping me. It has a light, smooth, toasty orchid flavor that held up well to two steepings. Can’t say I am alert enough to tell a difference in the taste betweeen the first and second steep. Let’s just say I enjoyed both and I look forward to drinking this again!

This is drinkable, but not my favorite. The flavor of the rooibos overpowers the strawberry flavor. Also, I can’t really appreciate the vanilla at all.

drank Golden Yunnan by Zingerman's

First off, let me admit that this is my first Golden Yunnan. It comes from a collaboration between Rishi teas and Zingerman’s (a local foodie gourmet shop). I thorougly enjoyed it. It brews up dark brown when brewed according to package instructions. It has a bold flavor that is smokey…good smokey. Kinda like the brown bits of a toasted marshmallow (without any marshmallow flavor). Oh, how I lack the words to express my tasting experience. It is yummy smokey and so good!

This brews up a to a dark amber color. It has a nice light fruity note combined with the underlying maltiness. I really like the flavor. I don’t like the astringent finish much, which leaves my mouth feeling dry…like too many tannins dry.

The dry tea leaves smell toasted and buttered with a hint of popcorn. Watching the tea leaves unfurl during the steep is peaceful. The tea is a clear light yellow – the color of white wine. It tastes smooth and toasty, with a bit of brown rice and green tea flavor. Not getting any fruit or orchid flavors, but my nose is partially blocked with a cold. A type of tea my palate is not used to, but I think I like it.

Well, the first thing I can tell you is that after drinking the first cup of this new tea, I had to make a second one immediately. I am a fan of yummy fruity teas and this one has a lovely blend of light and sweet dragonfruity goodness. I taste the rose and the peach. The rest of the fruit blends into a very pleasant background of lipsmacking goodness. No astringincy or aftertaste here. It is also a beautiful rosy pink color…Pinkalicious would like this one.

Bio

I am a mother, wife and physician who recently discovered my long lost love of tea. I swore off all coffee at the beginning of this year and have been a much happier person ever since. I have a lot to learn about tea, but I am very enthusiastic!

So far, I like black teas, flavored teas and herbals best. I’m currently working on developing my palate for oolongs so that I can better appreciate their subtle complexities. I’d like to start getting to know matchas next.
