Taking down a few notches for not being as fruity tasting as it is scented. Great tea to sniff, but I’ve had better flavored greens…oh well.

drank Boston by Harney & Sons

Finishing up the sample from Ashmanra with lots of leaf in my teapot and a wee bit of honey in my cup. Seeing how it will compare to my experience with Cranberry Autumn and honey.

Honey makes it a bit more mellow, I think I like it more bold. No honey next cup. I think I will be ordering this next Harney order. Will alternate with Cranberry autumn. Both are delicious in their own way. I like the bake notes and almond nuttiness in this tea. Yum. I am falling in love with Harney teas!

Would you say this is a little toned down to Cranberry Autumn? Even though I love CA, it’s a little too strong on the palate sometimes.

It isn’t at all like Cranberry Autumn to me. Even though cranberry flavor is there, the almond gives it that amaretto sultriness. It is a quiet, intimate, cozy cup of tea. Cranberry Autumn is bright and social. IU like both, but they are for very different moods.

drank Honey Pear by Golden Moon Tea

Ahhh…deliciously smooth, a light hint of ripe pear with a bit of a floral pear blossom note with a sweet honey undertone. The main taste is of a quality black tea…maybe a ceylon or darjeeling? I wish it were more specific as the type of leaf.

I finished the last two bags from a swap with Jaime. I’ll definitely be picking some of this up once I go through my bagged tea stash. I love all the fruity goodness in this tea. And it’s one of very few jasmine teas I enjoy. Final Sipdown until I purchase more.

drank Snow Sprout by Golden Moon Tea

These leaves steeped the lightest colored brew I’ve ever drank, at least for a green tea. I love the lightness of this tea. The flavor is light and sweet and the lightest hint of sweetness to it. I hope to try others of this type down the road. Quite the enjoyable cup.

drank Lemon Lime Kampai by Teavana

I enjoy this tea most iced. The lemongrass is really flavorful in this blend. The citrus taste in this is very refreshing. My hubby drank a whole pitcher of this in one day! This tea is leaving my cupboard today, but will be revisited again.

Thanks to ashmanra I received a sample of this to try. I decided to have this as an alternative to the cranberry autumn this morning. This is a very fragrant cup. I love the nutty almond scent and sweet and tart cranberries. I will have to pick up a tin of this next order. I have a feeling I shouldn’t sample too many more of Harney’s black teas as I have liked all the flavored ones I have tried as of yet, and I can’t fit that many tasty teas in my cupboard. I like the briskness of the black tea bases and the realness of the fruits and flavorings. They do tea well!

I want to try this one too. And i have the same problem Re: Harney teas. I have so many! I have liked just about every tea of theirs i have tried. I guess I just have to start brewing more cups a day!

So glad you like it!

drank Rooibos Garden by Art of Tea
558 tasting notes

Thanks Jaime for sending me the wonderful art of tea samplers. This is one of the many (I lost count of what number out of how many I was on). I am enjoying the floral notes mixed with the rooibos. I think I would enjoy something like this more if it was a green rooibos as it doesn’t have the wet fermented wood taste, but it’s slowly growing on me. The floral notes are a nice change from the berry and vanilla and chocolate rooibosi I’ve sipped on lately. I can enjoy this cup, but can’t see it being in my cupboard, I just don’t care for red rooibos enough.

Another sample De-cupboarded this morning:) Finally went back to some of my Golden Moon samples from the sampler I purchased 8 months ago. Have 8 or 10 different samples to knock off my list.

I really like this Earl. It is a lightly sweet Earl, with a upstanding Bergamot flavor. The flavoring isn’t perfumey, it’s nice and citrusy floraly sweet. Not as sweet as the vanilla and cream earls, but lightly sweet, not bitter or tannic. This may be my favorite Earl as of today. I’m so happy I tried this tea today!

I should have read other users tasting notes before trying this, but I was intrigued by this as it is an “herbal” tisane and not a flavored black tea. I don’t know how they made it taste like gingerbread, but it does. It just tastes like what’s at the bottom of your cup of tea after your ginger snaps have gotten soggy and disintegrated after dipping them in your tea. I don’t really know how else to explain it. I took a few sips but it is thick as mud and has cooled down too much. Maybe this will be added to my english breakfast tea 2:1 to see if they pair well for a spicy sweet cup….hrm…not my cup of tea without tweaking.

Kristen

I was disappointed by this one too!

Live in the cornfields of IL, but not too far from the city. Expecting a baby any day now (due Oct 24 2011). Sticking to mainly herbal and low caffeine teas for now. Trying to encourage my husbands tea drinking, but he adds so much sweetner he may as well just drink diet pop. I love trying new teas, and will try any tea once.
