To me, this is what black tea should be. Sweet, malty, like honey wheat bread. Smooth, balanced, yet somehow also savory with a little salty rasin/dried fruit note too. It’s like a honey orchid Dancong that just keeps going in depth of character.
If this was listed in the store, I would buy a whole stash of it in a heartbeat.
I’m not kidding when I say: this is the best black tea I have ever tasted.
Maybe I just like Phoenix Dan Cong but this leaf is on a whole higher level.

Good lord, are you tryna make me place a second LP order in less than a week?
I’m just here to tell the truth! But I did check with Andrew on possibly stocking more Japanese black tea, which he is actively working on. :)
I’m looking forward to my first order from him. It’s on the small side and with an order of “LP Hookup” just to get a sense of his offerings. I actually didn’t see this black currently on the website, so I think I’ve been saved from an immediate order for now… :D
That’s exactly what I did and so far I have been rather floored with all but one, as reflected by my ratings on here. The Japanese black isn’t on the site yet but I’m staying hopeful because it’s so good.
I got it with a Hookup but the fun of that is: who knows what you get to explore soon!
