78 Tasting Notes

If I said I was sending you a tea any time recently I just sent it out today. :)
Carol who Cheri Cameron B Mandy Tea is on the way!
I didn’t buy tracking numbers because they’re a buck a piece now.
So if you don’t get it within a week ish, let me know? Okay :)
It should arrive in 2-4 days.

As for tea, this morning I didn’t have time for tea so tonight I’m going to have some again. I am thinking I want another caramel matcha latte.
Red Leaf Teas, my only complaint with you is you don’t offer samples on all your matchas. If you did, I’d be ordering SO MANY right now. >_< I HAVE to have more of this caramel tho.

Cameron B.

Thanks dear! I’m supposed to get my Della Terra shipment tomorrow so I’ll get it to the post office and they’ll ship it Friday! :)

I just ordered a free sample of almond matcha from them. I’ve never had matcha before, it should be interesting. :P

Cheri

I was hoping to get yours out tomorrow, but I think it’s going to be Friday morning now as I just got home from a late dinner and I’m too tired to pack tea up tonight.

Not bad at all! It’s a mellow spice blend with a sweetness that really says “Cinnamon Bun” but while the smell is stellar, if anything, the flavor is a bit too mild. I like it tho! A little sugar and milk make it rather delicious for a desert tea. :)

I’m finding with all of the Della Terra teas I’ve tried that you really need more than the recommended amount to get a good, flavorful cup of tea. I’ve been doing about 1.5 teaspoons per 8 ounces (2 teaspoons for rooibos blends). :)

Arshness

It tasted good as is, but I can imagine it being stronger and better. I’ll keep that in mind on the samples you sent. :)

Congrats! Looks great :-)

mj

Congrats! It sounds amazing :-)

carol who

That recipe looks amazing! Great picture, too!

Arshness

Thanks! I took it myself. ^^ It was a little melt because I had to take several shots and it was soft serve but it is still representative of the end product. Haha :)

Let me know if you try it!

Veronica

That sounds so good! I’m going to have to try it this weekend.

Arshness

Woot! Let me know if you do! I can’t wait to hear feedback.
They said they’re going to include it in their next e-newsletter too!

I’m having a morrocan mint tea morning. :)

I borrowed my daughter’s ceramic tumbler and made a big morrocan mint with milk and sugar to drink this morning. I have never used this kind of cup before and honestly I see why people like it. :) It’s kept my drink warm for quite a while even tho I’ve been sipping slowly this morning.

I love this tea. I am ordering some Gunpowder from Adagio soon so I can add mint to it and make this. It’s just so good. :) Anyway, upgrading my rating because I’d definitely buy this tea.

Flavors: Mint, Smoke, Sweet

Preparation
175 °F / 79 °C 6 min, 0 sec 2 tsp 16 OZ / 473 ML

Ah the beautiful catch-all. This is useful.

I just wanted to post today to say I haven’t had any tea today.
It’s crazy no? I got up and wanted a latte, but things have just been so weird and busy today that I never got to it. I plan on sneaking to my sister’s bathroom later and borrowing her garden tub to take a luxourious hot bath with a latte in hand (I’m thinking Birthday or maybe Blueberry decaf if it’s late by then), playing some Sequentia, lighting a candle and incense and reading some more of /Skin Game/ by Jim Butcher on my Kindle Paperwhite.

Boy I can make myself sound fancy for a broke, out-of-work artist…
I guess when you take join in the cheap stuff… ;)

Well, I may just follow that up with getting my wifey to pamper me up with some foot cream and biofreeze on the joints afterward. Yeaaah… >_< Gosh I sound old.

I swear I’m not! >_< Not very.

Anyway… I am taking a few days off from trying new teas as I have been hankering hard for the stuff I really love since I have done nothing but try new ones for the past couple weeks. I really wish I could afford an electric kettle right now. I want one so badly. Making tea takes entirely too long for as often as I want to drink it.

Cameron B.

I want an electric kettle too! :P Maybe a Christmas gift idea?

Arshness

We don’t celebrate Christmas, but maybe for my birthday next year. :)

I love this tea so much. Having it again this morning. I’ve found it is the perfect morning tea for me (as a latte) because I can make it sweet with just a little sugar and cream and it’s delightful. A little caffeine doesn’t kill me early in the morning, so as long as I don’t indulge in this one late-night I tend to be okay.

I have been enjoying the aroma of my cup as it cools. I am trying to determine what it smells like in addition to what I’ve said before. I notice the vanilla more than I did previously. Vanilla is a delightful scent but we often overlook it when our brain thinks chocolate is present… I think because Vanilla is so often used to accent chocolate.

The coffee-ish scent is probably only because I’m so unfamiliar with coffees. It doesn’t smell like ground coffee. It smells like a cuppa coffee but only in the vaguest way. The salty, savory note added by hazelnut perhaps? Or the cocoa nibs?

Either way, I know the cornflowers are just for looks. They don’t add anything to the mix that I can detect here or in any other tea I’ve had them in. I don’t have a super refined palate tho, so maybe I’m just immune to them. They ARE pretty tho.

I made a cup for me and a cup for sis with a whipped cream topping for the rare treat since I had a can of whipped cream in the fridge for unrelated reasons… WHAT!? Don’t look at me like that. I mean like…. pie or whatever. :P

Flavors: Cocoa, Coffee, Hazelnut, Round, Sweet, Vanilla

Preparation
Boiling 3 min, 0 sec 4 tsp 32 OZ / 946 ML

Gift from carol who

I received this tea in a little gift pack from carol who who was kind enough to send me a starter pack to show me how you guys do tea swaps around here. Very sweet of her. ^^

I have to say that Teavana has yet to impress me. This one was interesting but I couldn’t get into it. It was so OILY. I have never had a tea that ran me off due to being too OILY before. But this one is weirdly oily.

I think it’s citrus oil? or chocolate oil? I have no idea, but you can see the oil separating on the cup and it just isn’t my cuppa. It smells neat, it tastes okay… But not great to me. And I couldn’t drink super oily tea. It just weirds me out on some level.

Anyway, the flavor isn’t wowing me and I know I won’t seek this one out for a purchase. But man the idea of orange chocolate tea … I wish.

Flavors: Chocolate, Orange

Preparation
Boiling 3 min, 0 sec 1 tsp 8 OZ / 236 ML
Roswell Strange

I still have nightmares about this one.

Arshness

Hahahaha. Omg it’s not just me. XD

Cameron B.

In my experience, teas that have actually chocolate in them (not nibs or cocoa bean) tend to get an oily film. Gross.

Cheri

I’ve also found that teas with actual chocolate in them seem get that oily film on them. I’ve learned to ignore it if I love the tea. Just make sure you clean your teaware to remove it, or it shows back up in the next tea you make.

Arshness

Uggh yeah. >_< I cleaned my Ingenuitea thoroughly after that. It was icky.

But the flavors here didn’t amaze me anyway. I was hoping for “Orange Tootsie-roll Pop!” and it tasted more like “Who ruined this… orange flavored syrup water with a hint of chocolate and oil?”

haha. >_< Well it was at least an adventure!

madametj

I’m totally with you. Totally unimpressed with everything I’ve tried from Teavana.

drank Decaf Mango by Adagio Teas
78 tasting notes

Samples Only TTB

Final tea of my trials from the TTB!
I am sending it off in just a bit with all kinds of new samples as there were several here I wanted to keep.

This tea was good. It’s Adagio’s ceylon decaf with mango flavor. The mango flavor was mild like with almost all their decaf teas I’ve tried, but tasty. I liked it and if I cared for mango I’m sure it’d be quite good. I tasted this with my sister who is very fond of mango and we both thought it was nice.

That said, I don’t love mango, so I won’t be ordering this. But if I knew someone who wanted mango tea, I would recommend.

Profile

Bio

Loves tea, reading, music, art, video games, roleplaying, and spending time with her wife and daughter. :)

Ask me for a $5 gift cert to Adagio if you’ve never ordered from them!

As for tea, loves flavored black teas, herbals, and good lattes most. Green is hit or miss with me and I haven’t found a white I like yet. I like my tea sweet, no matter how much some tea connoisseurs turn their noses up at me for it. I love trying new teas and I’ll try anything once!

I noticed this elsewhere on the site so I’m going to post a ratings legend as well:

95-100 Favorite; This is one of my favorite teas. I will want to keep this in stock all the time. I will drink a lot of this tea. I’m likely to send samples of this in swaps because I LOVE it and want to SHARE my love of it with you!

90-94 Excellent; Some of the best teas I’ve tried. Delish. I will probably buy more.

80-89 Very Good; I liked it and would like to have it again for sure. I will surely buy it again at some point. Not quite “The best” of any category, but some good stuff to be sure.

70-79 Pretty Good; Maybe it’s just not quite my type of tea or not quite my flavor, but I acknowledge that it’s a good tea. I might drink it again if the mood strikes me. Not very likely to buy it again. May still recommend it to others based on their tastes.

50-69 Okay; I probably won’t buy it again, but will probably finish drinking what I have. It’s not bad. Not good… but not bad. I probably won’t recommend it.

50 or less Meh; I didn’t really enjoy this tea. I won’t buy it again and can’t recommend it.

10-0 I must have really, really hated this tea. It may have killed my puppy or absconded with my cheesecake. I’m pretty sure it killed Professor Xavier.
