2649 Tasting Notes
My partner’s sister bought this for him for Christmas, which was nice, but he’s not a big tea guy. He says, “Smells like grass/dirt. Tastes like duller genmaicha.” I found the flavor a tiny bit funky, but in a pleasant way. It’s not something I’d really want again, but it was nice enough with sugar and milk.
I bought this at a Renaissance festival, and it’s much tastier than I anticipated! It reminds me of a ginger beer, so it’s doing its job well! That ginger zing is perfect, and it’s backed up by some apple to round it out. The cold resteep tastes almost the same as the first steep. It also comes in a cute tin that looks like a soda can.
That’s what this is supposed to be a tea version of! I haven’t had the real thing. But it turns out quite a pale yellow.
The base here is nice and grapey. Or maybe that’s the flavoring. Regardless, I’m enjoying this! Sweetened with milk, it tastes pretty sophisticated and interesting! I’d guess raisin or currant if I had to guess the flavor since who knows what this name means. Apparently it’s lemon and berry? I guess I could see that. My first cup of this was pretty nondescript, so I’m glad I waited to write a note until I finished the bag!
This tastes too much like sour lemon. I’ve had delicious orange teas from Deb before, so I was confident I’d love this, but it isn’t really for me. The second time I had this, I gave it a shorter steep and didn’t dislike it as much. Still, the orange wasn’t juicy or bright, kind of just muddled and meh.
The main flavor I find is coconut that tastes to me like it’s on the edge. I shared this with my partner who never notices coconut being off, and he really enjoyed it! It’s desserty with a decently strong hit of spice. He thought this tasted really fruity for some reason.
A friend gave me this tea for my birthday last year. It grew on me over the course of my first cup and then subsequent cups. I taste more creme flavoring than anything else. It’s a bit fake, but I don’t mind it. I’m mostly missing the bright punch of bergamot. Though I enjoy this one, I added the rest of the bag to the TTB because I don’t need a whole bag of a pretty straightforward caffeinated tea.
