drank Crème Brulée by DAVIDsTEA

I’ve had this both iced with sweetener and hot and I enjoyed both. Definitely a nice rooibos to try. It almost smells like rum in the bag which is wonderful.

Really enjoyed this one, even when I oversteeped it a bit. Nice flavor and not too bitter.

Smells amazing in the bag and in the cup. Found the taste a bit disappointing, but still not bad for a flavoured oolong.

drank Devil's chocolate by Teaopia

Not bad for a chocolate tea. I mostly enjoy the smell of this one, finding that once I brew up an cup and drink it, it doesn’t quite match my expectations.

drank Peaches and Cream by Teaopia

This one is pretty good. It definitely has a good, strong peach aroma when I open the bag. Once brewed, it’s the pleasant, smooth flavor I expect from an Oolong. I’m surprised I don’t get more peach flavor, but maybe my peach taste buds are on strike after all the peaches I’ve been eating this summer?

I did find that compared to the milk oolong, the peaches and cream has more broken leaves once steeped. It’s not the end of the world for me, but I thought it odd.

drank Honey Vanilla by Teaopia
65 tasting notes

I bought this tea today because it was part of the 75% off sale. I’d read the reviews here previously, and like another reviewer I was kind of surprised that people were shocked the tea tasted and smelled like honey.

Well, it absolutely smells like honey. I’m pretty sure it out honeys my jar of raw honey at home (that I’m currently unable to find, I blame the dog). It borders on being the kind of scent that hurts the nose a bit.

I waited somewhat impatiently while it brewed because I do love me some honey.

In the end, I’m not disappointed in this tea. It’s ok. In flavor, the honey is there, but not all that strong. I don’t taste vanilla at all which is what brings it down a bit for me. It’s probably going to join the other bags cluttering my desk at work, but I don’t think I’d buy it again (if I had the opportunity, which I probably won’t)

drank Mate Chai by Teaopia

I like chai and I like mate so I bought this tea for my husband. He’s been looking for a tea to start replacing some of his coffee consumption and I figured this one might be it – it’s not the first I’ve tried to accomplish this.

This time though? It worked and he’s taken my bag to work with him! I had some before he ran off with it and quite enjoyed it. It has a nice chai flavor to it and the mate doesn’t diminish it at all.

I guess if I’m going to buy this again, I’ve got to get out there and do it ASAP.

drank Fine Champagne by Teaopia

Teaopia has their summer sale on right now and when I went there at lunch, I found the teas on my list were on sale (woot) so I decided to add this one to my order (even though it wasn’t on sale) since I was curious and I’d save so much on my other teas.

I don’t mind this, but it isn’t quite what I was expecting. I’m finding it more like a black tea than an oolong which is slightly disappointing. Although I may have oversteeped it or had the water too hot so I won’t completely blame the tea.

It is fairly tasty though.

drank White Pear by Teaopia

Based on my previous review, I suppose this means that the Olympics are a special occasion. The only other option is that Monday (and me being late for work) is a special occasion. The Olympics happen less often so I’ll give them credit for my dusting off of the tin of White Pear.

I still enjoy it, but after exploring other tea options, I’m finding that maybe I don’t love it as much as I’d remembered.

Still nice and light, but I don’t taste as much pear (perhaps this could be blamed on the dusty tin).

Maybe I’ll try icing it tonight to see if I like that better.

drank Tropicalia by DAVIDsTEA

When I was picking up some teas, my husband ordered an iced tropicalia so of course I had to try some of it. I’m pretty impressed with this one. I found that I really tasted the coconut and pineapple, while my husband found he tasted a lot of vanilla.

Either way, it was slightly sweet and definitely refreshing.

I’ve always enjoyed tea. Lately, I’ve stepped away from the grocery store selection of bagged teas and found the world of loose leaf teas.
