This tea was a first for me – I’d never had a mate or a chocolate tea before receiving it as part of a sampler.

I’m not much of a coffee drinker, so having a tea with slightly more caffeine is a good thing.

I enjoyed the flavor on this one and would probably keep it stocked if I knew it would stay around. It’s slightly chocolatey, slightly bitter and pretty tasty overall.

My mother in law bought my husband a tea sampler from Teaopia for his birthday. That sampler introduced me to Oolong tea (it came with Plum Oolong) and I fell in love.

When I went to a local Teaopia to restock and pick up a tin for my mother in law who also loved it, I found they were out of the Plum so I decided to try the milk oolong.

Really, my plan was to give my mother in law the entire 100g tin for her birthday and suck it up on the loss of the Plum Oolong.

Then I opened the tin and took a sniff and I couldn’t help myself. I made a cup. After that cup, I decided that I just couldn’t give my mother in law an open (and slightly used) tin of tea. That would just be wrong.

Of all the teas in my home, this is one of the select that also has a place on my desk at the office and I have a cup at least once a day. I’ve also realized I’ve got a bit of a schedule – right after lunch every day I have the Milk Oolong. I try to get at least one re-steep from it before I leave for the day.

It’s got a great, light creamy flavour. Definitely something I’ll keep on my shelves – at least until Teaopia finishes the change to Teavana.

This one is actually one of my summer time must-haves. I enjoy it hot as well as iced.

It can have a fairly strong lemon flavor to it if steeped too long, but I love lemon so that isn’t a big problem for me.

I’ve also enjoyed just picking bits of fruit from the tin while I wait for my water to boil.

Opening the tin, I was surprised to see little mini toasted marshmallows in amongst the tea. I’ve actually tasted the little devils pre-steeping mainly when I get a sugar craving at my desk and the tin is right there.

I really enjoyed the flavor in this one. Slightly chocolatey, a bit of marshmallow and a sweet caramel/graham cracker flavor.

I don’t always pay attention to my steep time at work. I get distracted easily and I’ve found that this tea sustains an extra-long steep fairly well. Either that or I’m getting used to over steeped tea.

While it isn’t a tea I’d normally feel I need to keep stocked, due to the sale of Teaopia to Teavana, I’ll be picking up another tin.

I’ve always enjoyed tea. Lately, I’ve stepped away from the grocery store selection of bagged teas and found the world of loose leaf teas.
