drank Milk Oolong by American Tea Room

This is a delayed note, I sampled this about a week ago. The memory of it is still in my mind, the taste and aroma haunt me many days later. This was a special gift from my Second Steep Book Club cohort QuiltGuppy, and I have been saving it for weeks until I had a proper gaiwan to steep it in. I love caramel, and this tea gave me much pleasure with it’s creamy feel, and milky, smooth taste. I can understand now, as this is my first Milk Oolong, why it is so highly prized. I burned my fingers slightly using the gaiwan the first time, but after 6 steeps, I had the hang of it. 6 steeps, each a little different, but still so incredibly good. I loved every drop and when it was gone, the experience recalled a rare aged port I had the honor to try at the Ritz Carlton years ago…incredible. THANK YOU QG!

American Tea Room

so glad you liked it….QG is a great ambassador!

QuiltGuppy

Yeah! I knew you’d love it! :) Hey, if I’m an ambassador, doesn’t that entitle me to a badge or something? I think I’ll have to ask my son to color one for me. Seriously, though, this is one of my favorite teas and I’m really happy that you enjoyed it as much as I do.

teawing

She is indeed, QG has broadened my tea horizons in a number of ways.
Yes, a badge and I think something special from ATR would be in order…but ya’ll may already have something worked out :) Regardless, the Milk Oolong was divine.

QuiltGuppy

Nope, I’m a free agent here. :) The one thing I love from ATR is that whenever you place an order, there’s always an extra sample of something new to try.

Indigobloom

I tried a milk oolong… not my favourite. I couldn’t find much milk, but then I was new to tea tasting then

teawing

Was it this one? There was a discussion thread a while back that compared many of them, this one got very good comments.

Indigobloom

No it was from David’s. I tried another from Tea Emporium once but it was only a sample and I didn’t have a chance to savour it.

I dare say, I believe I am the first of the male persuasion to comment on this tea…
While suppressing a smile, it is a distinct honor to share the company of so many esteemed ladies, while partaking in the mutual joy of this wonderful blend. Blackberry, the royal berry in my humble opinion with vanilla and cream. Delightful, delectable, and delicious.
Every sip takes me back to my mother’s Blackberry cobbler with creamy, vanilla ice cream on top. I am not sure I qualify for this club in terms of sense, but I am guilty of prideful prejudice when it comes to the three party marriage so perfectly joined together.
I am grateful to KiTT for the opportunity to try this, I have been wishing for so long…

Been slammed at work lately, no time to log but I have taken plenty of time for tea. I am thankful to my many friends I have met here for introducing me to new and exciting teas.
This is becoming a favorite, I really think it should be marketed! Thanks to KiTT and her Blog, I won a wad of this (southern measurement term) and some other samples.
I will log them later, but I love the slightly smoky, creamy, vanilla flavors and this is the honest truth, you can close your eyes with a cup of this and you are at a campfire…well, as long as you don’t spill any of it!

KeenTeaThyme

You are so sweet! I’m glad you like it. I too can’t get enough…but may be slightly biased! :)

Thanks to the generosity of KITT, I am enjoying this today…
Minty green with a touch of chocolate, I do mean a touch, very understated.
I like it. Like many I have seen post, I am not too sure what I think about chocolate tea, but this is just right. The green and mint are center stage.

From yesterday, still another gift from QuiltGuppy!
I liked this but honestly, Honeybush is not a favorite of mine. Spiced like this with Sweet Potato as well, it was very good and had me thinking of late November days and Thanksgiving feasts.

Another gift from QuiltGuppy, thanks soooooo much!
I had a cup of this last night before bed, then tried a second steep this morning.
Solid Strawberry both times, the black tea was richer on the first steep as you would expect. I really like this. It is well balanced, not too much of either flavor.

drank Sakura Sencha by Den's Tea

Thanks to QuiltGuppy for sharing this, it is delicate, the cherry flavor is perfect. I would have liked a little more of the sencha, but I may go for a longer steep next time. The flavor is almost fragile, like a cherry blossom. Over all, this is very good and from the description, I see somewhat rare, available only in spring. It is also fitting, as my thoughts are with the people of Japan and the tragic circumstances they have to bear…

teawing

Darn, went to Dens web site and they are sold out for the season…

Thanks KiTT for sharing your stash! The flavors are exactly as you describe, slightly smokey, a hint of vanilla and cream…just like a toasted marshmallow. Now I don’t have to wait for bonfires and hot dog roasts in the Fall to enjoy. If you like Lapsang Souchong, you will like this one.
