drank Fantasy Island by DAVIDsTEA

I visited David’s Tea last weekend and picked this tea up along with Coconut Grove. After taking a whiff, I was taken in by its sweet aroma. Raspberry and coconut, though, it does smell artificial in both areas. I am a fruit lover, so I would definitely be able tell the difference in tastes. Fortunately, I found it quite exceptional and not overbearing. It’s dark and sensual. It’s a very sexy tea… (laughs) It lives up to its name – Fantasy Island.

I have tried it both warm and cold. I love it as iced. Just to tickle my taste-buds, I added a hint of brown sugar. Very dreamy. It’s almost as good as Love Tea #7 — almost! All in all, an exceptional tea. I’d probably whip it out in the midst of a romantic endeavor.

drank Love Tea #7 by DAVIDsTEA

I found myself head over heels. Love Tea #7 by DavidsTea is warm and comforting. Though it is more of a fall/winter tea, it is still fabulous. I’m not a fan of floral but the way it’s added just gives it the right tone and harmony with chocolate~ It smells amazing! Taste amazing! Love Tea is permanently in my cupboard. It just fits right in.

I honestly don’t know how I feel about Buttered Rum by DavidsTea…

I’ve tried it as hot and cold, straight and sweetened. No matter how I tried to like it, I just can’t seem to get past its strong aroma. I felt that it was overwhelming. I also thought its flavour reminded me so strongly of medicine. I like rum a lot, as well as many other alcoholic beverages – so whatsup with that? I guess I should just go on a whim here and say this was not my cup of tea.

drank Toasted Walnut by DAVIDsTEA
6 tasting notes

This is one of my favorite teas. It is permanently inside my cupboard because it’s a cup full of memories and awesomeness. Toasted Walnut was, I think, my first flavored loose leaf tea. It was also the first tea I’ve ever purchased with my own money! I usually depend on my allowance (cough). Anyhow, now that I’m a ‘grown up’ and earning ‘grown up’ money I get to purchase little treasures. Along with Pumpkin Chai, they’ve been through with my low lows and my highest highs. They’re my pick-me-up teas so you can sense that I’m quite attached to them.

Toasted walnut is fabulous when it’s hot and just as divine when it’s ice cold. Adding a splash of sweetness enhances its down-to-earth tones. I do admit I have a sweet tooth but I don’t mind having it straight – it’s almost as great. You can definitely taste the walnut when it’s cold just an FYI. Generally, it is nutty, coconut-y, and smooth. It does get bitter when over-steeped. Nonetheless, it’s a great tea and I’m getting borderline biased. Or maybe I already am…

I think this is simply marvelous.

A cup of Quangzhou Milk Oolong is perfect any time of the day, even as sunny as it is outside in Toronto. It lifts my mood up even higher. Also, for just a moment of time, I could feel the world unveil its beauty. Am I exaggerating? I like to think not.

I’m having mine straight. I’ve battle against my urges to add some sweetness but I can tell you that is was an easy triumph. The flavour is delicate: creamy, buttery roasted – is that adjective even possible? (laughs), smooth and silky.

drank Gyokuro Yamashiro by DAVIDsTEA
6 tasting notes

Gyokuro,

I stopped by David’s Tea today to grab a cup of straight green tea for the ride home under this terrible weather. I wanted to have a little taste of Gyokuro Yamashiro tea. A little bird told me to get a cup of it instead of buying a baggie because of its price, so I did.

Two things I should’ve done differently
1. – I ordered it with a splash of soy milk and agave out of reflex
2. – I steeped it for 5 minutes

I wanted to taste how it truly is… BARE NAKED STRAIGHT but I only realized it a little too late. I didn’t want to make a fuss so, I left it as that and went my way. I’ve also forgotten the amount of leaves David’s Tea pour for just a cuppa. It was too much! I think I’ve over-steeped the drink, giving it a slight bitter after taste, however, the tea was satisfyingly enough. I really love the vegetal tones.

I may be a fairy, or a pink unicorn or whatever you want me to be.

I am open minded at most parts but not enough to explore the veggies (laughs). I am a carnivore that loves fruits and drinks tea. I was introduced very early to the world of tea but never fully got interested until the beginning of 2013. I frequent David’s Tea – it’s the most accessible. I drink my tea whilst browsing through the world of fashion, arts and illustration; playing video games (PS3 & PC); reading books and mangas; watching Disney and Miyazaki films, and anime; gushing over how awesome the Green brothers are — all of which I regularly do on the daily meaning every hour is tea time!

Born in the Philippines, grew up in America, and recently moved to Canada, I have yet to explore more of the world.
