It feels so good to be sitting still, enjoying a lightly sweetened cup of this.

I’m not going to go into a long review, since steepster is on the fritz anyway, but I wanted to acknowledge this beautiful tea, which has a rich flavor of melon, asparagus, pumpkin seed, & the color yellow. I originally tried it as part of the green tea sampler sent to me by the wonderful Angel, & although I rarely purchase green teas, I did buy some of this one.

I got a sample of this with my last Teavivre order, & I have to admit, it’s pretty nice, especially lightly sweetened. The sweetening really brings out the flavor of the tangerine peel.

Stephanie

Sweetening this one is a good idea… I’ll have to try that!

I woke up this morning & headed straight out to my poor neglected garden. No tea, no nothing, just me out there looking at the devastation, the crazy overgrowth, the need for trellising & weeding…sigh…how did it come to this? I watered & watered, picked tomatoes, peppers, kale, & zucchini, watered more, pulled some weeds, dug up a bed a carrots (I’ll probably post my annual sexy carrot contest winner later), watered some more…
My garden is a wretch, but there is always hope…hope for more time for gardening :)
By 9am it was already sweltering hot, so I came in & made a pot of this one, mainly because it was in the front of the ‘breakfast blends’ box. It’s still great with breakfast, & I’m starting the morning with a sip down!

Heading out the door with 3 teas in tow:
Irish Breakfast – butiki
Yunnan Dian Hong black tea – full leaf – Teavivre
Spring 2014 Yunnan Black Gold – YS

This should hold me until I return…

Tony & I are in full couch potato mode, watching the “Rise of an Empire”, which is a sequel to the 300. I’m having trouble following the storyline, to be honest. I guess it’s not really a sequel, but a storyline that takes place concurrently with what went on in the 300. So I have to be honest, I get kind of bored with movies that rely too heavily on CGI effects. Just sayin’

I’m also really tired of auto spellcheck constantly changing yixing to mixing, etc…
So, as the movie ends, I’m going to disable my spell checker. Look forward to misspelled words, but at least they will be the actual words I wanted to use, instead of some of the crazy substitutes that I’ve been getting lately.

Meanwhile, yet another sip down from the TeaFairy Collection. This really was an awesome trade!

Christina / BooksandTea

Do you just use the keyboard that came bundled in with your phone? I replaced my auto keyboard with Swiftkey, and so far I’m really happy with its ability to learn what words I tend to use.

Terri HarpLady

I use all apple products: a desk top, a lap top, an ipad, & an iphone.
Currently I’m on the laptop, but this issue is on all of them. I think my desktop is a little more intuitive, but I’ll probably disable spell checker on all platforms, because I usually proof-read things before I post anyways, & I’m pretty good at spelling. :)

Apple LOVES to change yixing to mixing.

Another sip down from the TeaFairy collection, and if I haven’t said it before, thank you for trading with me!

This is a pleasant cocoa & malt kind of cup. Tasty :)

drank China Keemun by Zen Tea

There is something about having fried eggs with the yellow part still runny on top of a bed of ridiculously crispy potatoes dosed with salt, pepper, & garlic granules. There is just nothing like it. Every bite is a mix of crisp, dense, & rich awesomeness. It is comfort food, to the max.

I drank this Keemun along side brekky, an offering from our TeaFairy. It is rich with the taste of brown sugar, light smoke, & a hint of the rich taste of canned condensed milk.

Indigobloom

Mmmm eggs on potato. I also LOVE a runny egg on rice. Soooo good

Terri HarpLady

I don’t eat potatoes often, I’m pretty sure they make my feet hurt, but I’m eating them twice today. The 2nd time will be homemade super crunchy french fries alongside a grilled pork steak. Tony & I eat like royalty on the the weekends! :)

Indigobloom

Oh pork chops! YUM!

sherapop

Runny-yolked eggs with fried potatoes: YUM!

sherapop

I agree: salt is key. ;-)

I’m starting the day with a sipdown from my TeaFairy collection, :)
This is such a rich & nuanced tea, that I don’t know where to begin. It’s sweet, thick, & tangy, heavily, but naturally, perfumed with an oolong like floral quality, sweet potato & apricot. And more.
That’s all I can say, I gotta get out of bed & cook breakfast!

Lariel of Lórien

It was so good, but I don’t have anymore.

This is still my #1 favorite tea. It’s held that spot for a while now

I got a sample of this with my most recent Teavivre order, because I love peaches & it sounded interesting. The first thing I noticed is that the dry tea smells delicious. I ate a few small pieces of tasty dried fruit from the bag, & then I brewed the tea.
It’s very red, & the flavor is tart, so I’m thinking hibiscus, but I don’t see it listed on the ingredients.
I’ve never drank a tea with roselle in it, so I looked it up on Wikipedia, & sure enough, it is a member of the (you guessed it) hibiscus family.
I can handle a little hibiscus, from time to time, provided the drink is also sweet, so I added a little stevia. It’s fruity & drinkable, but I think it would be much better over ice.

Bio

I’m so excited to have found this community! I’m a self-employed Harpist (acoustic & electric – Originals, Classical, Rock, Jazz, etc) & Singer/Songwriter. My days & nights revolve around teaching at home, playing gigs, gardening,& fixing awesome food to eat. My schedule is different everyday, but I just go with the flow, & I sip a lot of tea!

My love of Tea began with Herbals back in the 70’s. One of my favorites was a licorice blend from House of Hezekiah, an old tea shop in Kansas City. There was also a tea with mint, rose petals, chamomile, etc called Nuclear Casual Tea.
In the 80’s I gave up caffeine, chocolate, alcohol, (& a few illicit substances…), and brewed medicinal blends & tinctures to support 4 pregnancies (all children born at home). In the 90’s my love affair with green teas began when I discovered ‘The Republic of Tea’. Their beautiful teas & packaging inspired my original song, “TeaMind”, from my CD “Zen Breakfast”. If you’d like to hear the song for free, drop by my website.

In general, I drink my teas straight, but occasionally I add a pinch of Stevia & maybe some coconut or almond milk (I’m allergic to dairy, gluten, & various other things & avoid most sweets.)

I’ve explored a variety of teas:
Whites tend to be a little bland…sorry
Oolongs – wonderfully sensual
Roobios – I’m not a fan in general
Puehr – a fairly new direction for me
I’m not a huge fan of flavored teas, but I do make exceptions, & I’ll try just about anything once.

And Black Tea, Oh how I love thee!!
I am on a quest for the most wonderful breakfast cup! I will find you, my Love!
