From Verdant Tea (Special)

Licorice can be a divisive plant. Its sweetness is so unique and powerful that it is sometimes misunderstood. We wanted to make a blend that is all about licorice, but tempers it with subtlety for a smooth, sweet and refreshing brew. We complement the licorice sweetness with cinnamon and fennel, and balance it out with peppermint.

Another fail this February for me in terms of the Blends boxes from Verdant. That being said, I’m sure there are those who will really like the blends, so don’t like my wonky tastebuds dissuade you from wanting to try them out. Overall problem with this one? WAAAAAAAYYYYYY too sweet for me. Unbelievably cloying sweet. I thought about trying to cut it with another tea, but i’m far too lazy for that sort of thing ;) So the rest of my half of the tea will be parceled out to others who will hopefully like this one :)

Dinosara

I took a look at those blends and knew this was not the box for you, haha. This tea is definitely not for me, either! But at least I am pretty sure I will enjoy the others.

Zeks

I completely agree. I like my tea to compliment the stuff I am currently doing (thinking, eating…) and this one is kinda like hitting a telephone pole face first while texting

Sil

hahahahaha

Autistic Goblin

You could always be like that one person who was texting and fell into the fountain at the mall. I forget where on youtube the video is but it was pretty funny :D

Autistic Goblin

Yep that’s it! Still so freaking funny! not as funny as the lady and the deer signs though. I’ll post the link to that one later :D

First time ever I think I’ve been disappointed by a Verdant blend (that didn’t contain any allergens for me)
I saw licorice and mint on the ingredients and thought – hey I’ll love that, I should get a bag! only to find out it isn’t the licorice I’m used to, much less the licorice Verdant used in their last herbal blend I tried. Or maybe it just pairs with the ingredients differently.
Maybe I oversteeped/overleafed. I’ll try again before submitting a rating

Wonderful!
I have always adored peppermint and the mix with licorice and cinnamon worked well. The tea had a sweetness to it that reminded me of honey.

Perhaps i would like to try to add some silver needle to this blend ^^

Oops lol here I am at a sipdown and I haven’t logged this tea yet! Well, it was tasty enough to be sipped down in 4 months out of all my teas lol, so there’s that! Its a very soothing tea, I drank it a lot when I had that terrible cold as it feels amazing on the throat. It’s a herby, cinnamon, licorice blend, with the mint being cooling but not sharp, more of a cozy mint. The licorice smooths everything and really makes for a lovely mouthfeel. I like that the flavors blend so well! I remember when I first had this tea, I wasn’t overly impressed, but it grew on me and has ended on a good note. I might (probably) will reorder this at some point, especially because my mom really likes this tea, she had one or two cups while visiting me :) a nicely done herbal, nice for evenings!

My first sipdown of the day, sent to me from my tea sister Sil.
This is, without a doubt, my favorite from the verdant Blends, but only because I have a long love of licorice root. I’m not really so much of a fan of Fennel or Mint in my teas, but my guts are achy this morning from poor choices over the weekend, & both of those herbs are helpful for this sort of thing, so there you go.

Sweet Licorice, Cinnamon, Mint & Fennel…
I love fennel in your blends.
I am not much on minty teas usually
But this is a perfect minty tea for me… love it

Preparation
2 tsp 34 OZ / 1000 ML
Suziqzer

On my list of things to try from you soon. I’m not a big fan of fennel in sausage (on pizza), but I may find it different in tea

CelebriTEA

I love this…very different than the pizza…it adds to the licorice taste which somehow doesnt belong on the pizza …lol ;-)

Not exactly my cup. The taste is way too aggressive and though I kinda like it, it is a very bad idea to drink it while eating or as a complement to anything else… (like thinking, lol). The taste overpowers everything. It’s certainly an interesting experience but not the one you’d like to repeat too often. (i.e. brewing multiple times is definitely possible but by the time you finish first cup you are a week away from wanting to try it again)
