Malty and strong with a bite. :)

Was in the mode for a nice yunnan after an afternoon on the playground.
Malty and sweet with slight astringancy. My daughter loved it aswell with a generous splash of milk.

First review in quite a while. Been drinking to much coffee while working a whole lot to much.
Second tea of the day, heaped the rest of the tin into a small kobiwakopot.

three steeps @ 100C 30s/60s/120s.

Still a wonderfull tea. Like most japanese blacks there is an undertone of mint with a heavy accent of apricot. Sweet with little astringancy.

Last steep has a bit of a bite thou.

Ah, vacation!
Been a long while since i tried this one. Decided to do it westernstyle with water from the tetsubin. It taste like most yunnan blacks but with a smoky flavour added to the usual malty sweetness.
I do really prefer this tea gong-fu to bring out a stronger flavour.

New teas arrived toaday. Ivé been wanting to explore taiwanese black tea and this did not let me down.
I found it swett and minty without astringancy. Very pleasant.

Yunnan black, how i missed you!

I tried this tea with less leaf and long infusion as per rumor. The result was malty, somewhat sweet but less honeynotes and a hint of wet leaf and the slightest hint of astringancy during the aftertaste.
Body is full and thick, feels somewhat oily. This setting works well for a single infusion. Taste reminds me a bit of black bi lou chun.

After a hectic day in the city with my 5y daughter i really felt the urge for some tea to wind down. My choice fell on this wonderfull autumnflush, been my AF of choice for the last two years.
I used the breakfastpot 450ml ceramic thing with nice glace and stuff that i picked up in beijing some years back. Retains heat very well so i do like to use it for long infusions. Looks nice when serving guests as well, matching cups and all. ;)

Anyways the tea for me really taste AF, somewhat light yet with a bite. There is a good balance between a sweet body and a slight astringent aftertaste full of citrus.

This will be reordered year after year as a sure win. :)

Been out running in the rain and came home all soaked.

this tea warmed me up plenty! Brought out the gaiwan and filled it up with 5g leaf. A quick wash and it was good to go. what really impresses me about this the is the strong grapefruitflavour in the early steepings. I have read its suposedly good for ice tea. will have to try before sipdown! Hope i can restock this since its just about one of the best ooong ivé ever tried. the leaf is rolled like most high mountain oolongs but it is high oxidized. Splendid quality.
