Very smooth lapsang with a pleasant aftertaste that stays for a long time
Not exactly my cup. The taste is way too aggressive and though I kinda like it, it is a very bad idea to drink it while eating or as a complement to anything else… (like thinking, lol). The taste overpowers everything. It’s certainly an interesting experience but not the one you’d like to repeat too often. (i.e. brewing multiple times is definitely possible but by the time you finish first cup you are a week away from wanting to try it again)
Adding 1/3rd of sencha really helps balance the unnecessary sweetness of this batch
Preparation
Nope, less leaves doesn’t help with taht particular batch. I was in love with the original but this one is just barely tolerable without adding something to fix the balance of sweetness and afetrtaste
The latest(as in – sold 2 months before this note) batch of Yu Lu Yan is considerably different in taste to the original and, imho, much much worse.
The balance of sweetness and astringency is way off. It feels too sweet and there’s this aftertaste which was ok in the previous batch but here its too strong.
