From Upton Tea Imports

The top standard of decaffeinated Earl Grey available, and by far one of the best we have ever cupped. Please note that even the best decaffeinated teas lack some of the flavor and complexity of their unprocessed counterparts.

This tea is the reason why I’ve drifted from Steepster as it has become my daily tea. A great flavourful decaf tea. I’ve been searching for a decaf Earl Grey for a long time as my doctor advised going off caffeine for awhile. This has proved to be the best of the ones I’ve tried and I ended up buying 1000 grams to last me through our rainy seasons. Nothing better to have brewing after a cold dog walk.

Thanks to BrooklynSheep for this sample.
This came in a silver baggie.

CO2 Decaffeinated Ceylon OP
The tea had a Kosher star
English Breakfast 1 tsp/3-4min/212 degress
Imported and Picked by Upton Tea imports
I had a very small sample.
I placed what I had in a half cup of water.
I didn’t get anything special, still tasted like hot H20.
For now I’ll check out more teas from www.uptontea.com

Hm. I believe it was a sample of Decaffeinated English Breakfast Ceylon OP (TC09). You sure it was an Earl Grey? At least then it would have tasted like hot bergamoty H20…

Hi Brooklyn Sheep I’ll have to review my notes, and looking forward to trying my other Upton Tea sample I got from you!

This is really, really nice, especially for a decaf. I had it with some vanilla soy creamer and sweetened it just a little bit. It is a little weaker than a non-decaf, but has a strong bergamot flavor and was just right for evening.

One of the better Earl Grey teas I’ve had; I let my steep a minute or so longer than the recommended steep time (I like my Earl Grey strong). Good all around aroma and flavor; the stronger it is the better it holds up with milk and sugar (the way I prefer my black teas). Don’t notice that the decaf detracts from the flavor at all.

Excellent. One of the best Earl Grey teas I’ve ever had — the bergamont flavor is present and strong but doesn’t overwhelm the smooth, clean black tea flavor.

1 tsp leaves, 212F water, steeped to taste.
