English Breakfast

This is what I was raised on. Perfect with cream and sugar, this is something to constantly keep in your cupboard. Thank you, Grandma June, for introducing me to this classic tea!

It can be strong, so I usually don’t steep it as long as others do. It’s so tasty, but be careful you don’t drink too much of the caffeinated version in a short period of time. I made that mistake once and couldn’t figure out why I was shaking. :)

I keep a handful of these tea bags at work. I added the perfect amount of honey today. It was nutty and I got spice notes, like cinnamon.

Very tasty, very smooth, very good for work.

I had this tea when a family member came to stay with us. I opened up my tea pantry and said ‘pick a tea, any kind,’ and she just asked for ‘regular tea.’ So this is what I chose. And I think that speaks a lot for this tea.

English Breakfast tea, or variants thereof, tend to be one of the most well-known basic blends throughout history. (Apart from chais, and green teas.) But you can’t go wrong with this tea, it’s a basic, black robust blend and a great medium-strength tea. I like it with milk, or black with honey. It’s a little bit malty, stews very nicely and is perhaps one of the most recognisable from the Twining’s brand.

I really like this tea, even if it’s not the most exciting or the newest blend, it never lets me down, and I’m never dissatisfied with it.

I like my breakfast tea to be strong, this one unfortunately is quite mild. The aroma is great, however.

It’s morning and I needed to wake up, so I made a strong cup and added some milk. Basic English Breakfast, nothing special but so far I like it. A bagged tea I wouldn’t mind. I will have to try it straight sometime.

This one is always a good choice for breakfast(or just after breakfast especially when you had a big meal .)I like to drink it without anything，the taste is just so good ,strong but not overwhelming ,smooth with floral-like and malty scents ,like a very tough but lovely guy.
Honestly,it is one of my major beginnings as a black tea lover long ago ,before this one I just preferred lighter teas such as Ceylon (especially when flavored with vanilla or caramel ).
When I came across this one,I just began to understand that good tea can be ultimately perfect without any additions,too much decorations may hide their beauty sometimes.

I find when I sniff this tea, it makes me think of honey. I don’t think it REALLY smells like honey (maybe faintly), so I assume it’s just my mind going “this needs honey”.

That’s not to say that it actually NEEDS it. I’m still drinking it without, and I like it. It’s a basic morning breakfast tea. Wakes me up. Gently! And doesn’t require any additives; it’s only slightly sharp-tasting. It’s basic; I don’t love or hate it, and it goes good with morning foods. I’m drinking it bagged sadly, as no places in my area sell it loose leaf, that I know of.

I was extremely lazy this morning and turned to my tea bags for my tea fix. This is good but I definitely still prefer irish breakfast blends to english breakfast blends. It reminded me alot of my moms traditional chai though, probably because I put milk in sugar in it. I like this and will finish the box but I think after that i’ll probably stick to irish blends.

Today is cold and rainy here at the coast in Maine. Its a great day for hot tea. This is a nice tea (bag) from Twinings. I always seem to like their teas. This one is brisk, robust, no bitterness, and just a little astringency. A nice tea to wake up to.

This tea is fantastic! I guess I could call this my introduction to black tea since I used to go for only green, although I’ve had black tea sometime before. This tea has a very full-bodied taste, which was not too strong nor too weak. I really couldn’t ask for more when it comes to a good basic cup of black tea. Oh, and I learned that I don’t really like milk in black tea either because it seems to mask some of the tea’s unique flavor and it brings down the temperature a little. Anyways, this cup was enjoyable enough to convert me to a black tea drinker from green!

Add: My initial taste note of this tea was full of praise, but now that I’ve had more experience with black teas, I just don’t think this is strong enough. I can visually see this after I’ve finished the cup and see that it doesn’t leave much of a stain as other strong black teas. It’s still good enough for what you can easily get at the supermarket though.
