DUH, I accidentally grabbed the decaf version! Oh well, maybe that’s the universe telling me to cut down on caffeine. I hope it tastes the same! I tried this tea after a friend told me about it, she said it’s one of her favorites. I was looking for an easy bagged tea to use at work when I’m in a hurry and hopefully this fits the bill. I guess it is a little late for caffeine anyways…
I’m having a little treat with my tea today — macarons! I splurged a little to make up for working late. (Not that I’m working hard, here I am logging a tea). One huge plus for this tea, before I even try it, is that it is so cheap! I’ve been on a luxury tea kick and I almost laughed out loud at how cheap this box was. I’m hoping it can replace Anastasia by Kusmi as my favorite black tea blend — I can’t afford that much per box all the time.
First thoughts: this is a dusty tea bag. It smells good, though! When I started steeping it I smelled Bergamot strongly. Macaron break while I wait? Don’t mind if I do…
Steeped, waiting for it to cool. It does not smell awesome now. Gosh, I’ve written so much and haven’t gotten to the tea yet? Is anyone still reading?
Hmmmmmmmm… this tea is… a little disappointing. I’m going to let it cool down a little more and see if this helps. I had a tea recently that tasted much better after cooling down a little!
It does taste better a little cooler. I’m not tasting the citrus notes which drew me to this blend. It tastes like a standard earl grey to me — black tea and bergamot. Don’t get me wrong, that’s a great mix, but I was hoping for more from this Lady. This is in no way a replacement for my beloved Anastasia!
