This may very well be the only time you’ll ever see me review a bagged commercial tea. My real life friend for a decade up in Ontario sent me a big ol’ package of teas after she found out I went tea crazy. Unfortunately, I must not have relayed to her I’m a loose leaf guy because I ended up with half a dozen varieties of tea bags of different flavors /sigh

Thus, here I sit feeling obligated to TRY at least one of them once before I give this all away…..so here goes.

I’ve never tasted something so tart yet washed out at the same time. It’s like they are TRYING to pack some flavor punch in it but it’s so shallow it makes me want to laugh. And the worst part is it doesn’t even remotely taste like blueberries! It’s more of a tangy raspberry clone or something.

In honor of the $10 shipping she paid to get all this too me, I’m forcing myself to drink it all….but I am not happy about it >.<

It sucks when a well-meant gesture misses the mark so completely. You want to feel grateful, but…

Ok, so I bought this & a bagel to kill time while I was waiting for a store to open this morning. Bought myself a new bathing suit, for my birthday pool party! woooooooo

I got a large, 2 bags in. I let it steep for a couple of minutes. All I got was artificial blueberry taste. UGH ok Tim Horton’s, you are a Canadian company, you should know good blueberry. BLECH!
I ended up tossing the cup.

The water temp scale cannot go high enough for how hot this stupid crap was!

I don’t know whether I would go as far as saying this tea is GOOD, but it’s the best one that Timmy Ho’s offers. It has a wacky colour; not blueberry-steeped colour at all. There’s definitely some hibiscus in there, because it’s a blue-ish, purple-ish, red. Blueberry tea should be a greenish-black. That’s what happens when you add blueberries to hot water without vinegar (vinegar changes the colour from that wacky green-black to blueish like liquid pen ink). I doubt any of the contents of the tea bag contain blueberry anything other than artificial blueberry flavour.

All that being said, Timmy Ho’s warm beverages are TERRIBLE. It’s either coffee that tastes like cigarettes, new dark roast coffee that tastes like burnt cigarettes, “lattes” and “cappuccinos” that are at least 90% sugar, and tea that tastes like….cardboard? I can’t quite place it. I feel like a Canadian traitor saying all of that, but it’s true. If you want good coffee in Canada you have to get it from an independent coffee shop or make it yourself. Period. Same goes with tea. Independent tea shop (or David’s/Teavana) or make it yourself.

Verdict: I’m not about to ditch my Blueberry Jam tea from David’s any time soon for this stuff.

This was drinkable but I didn’t get much of the blueberry flavor.

I’m not usually a fan of white teas, I find them to be way too weak usually (although it could just be a bad experience with supermarket white teas).

I bought a medium blueberry white and asked for two tea bags, which flavour-wise was perfect, I got just the right amount of blueberry flavour and gorgeous colour!

However, I think this one does need to be sweetened or enjoyed with a dessert, and definitely take the tea bags out after a few minutes. I’ll order this tea again, though.

(brew-time set high because I left my tea bags in, I’d probably take them out at 3-5 mins in the future)

This is my go to tea when I am on conferences or travelling and there is no other option available, but there always seems to be a Tim Hortons around in Canada…so I am able to get a tea and a muffin…and this bagged tea is okay…I am a loose tea nut, but in a pinch this one is pretty good
