From The Tea Table

Brownies!! That was my first thought upon smelling this amazing tea! Premium black tea blend with coconut, cocoa bits, chocolate chips and flavorings (natural or nature identical). Use 1 tsp. per cup and steep 3-5 minutes in freshly boiled water.

I loved the idea of this tea… I have been looking for a replacement for hot chocolate and sadly this is not it. I loved the smell of the tea in the bag.. it smelled sooo chocolaty and you could see the coconut bits but after brewing it, it was just ok…. I let it cool a bit and I could taste the chocolate a bit more but nothing to wow me with… The smell is still so divine though :) Maybe I will mix this with another chocolate tea and get that perfect chocolate tea!

I sometimes add a little cocoa powder to the steep. If you need more chocolate, it is an easy fix.

This chocolate tea smells really good when you open the bag, but I agree with my fellow Steepster, it is not a replacement for hot chocolate to be sure. I like it with Silk Very Vanilla soymilk, it enhances the chocolate flavor and sweetens without being syrupy. I would repurchase this if I don’t find a better chocolate tea first. Oh, and I wouldnt recommend smelling the steeped leaves, they smell like vomit. Seriously.

Sipdown no. 8 of May 2019 (no. 70 of 2019 total, no. 558 grand total).

My original note on this is pretty accurate. In sipping down today, I noticed that there were slight pops of sweetness during various sips. But other than that the chocolate was pretty much as described.

I’ve had better chocolate teas. Much, much better. There isn’t a chocolate flavor so much as there just is an odd one, and it seems a little fake, like a Tootsie Roll. Moreover, it doesn’t quite go with the tea itself, so this is nowhere as nice as it should be. It’s not terrible, but it doesn’t live up to expectations at all.

I’ll drink it, but I don’t think I’ll ever order it again. Sticking to S&V for my chocolate teas, since I like the taste of the flavoring they use.
