From The Tea Spot

Our best seller! This blend of pure Chinese white tea, rosebuds and jasmine pearls creates an experience of aromatherapy that sharpens the mind and arouses the senses. The floral, exotic scent of night–blooming Jasmine is uplifting and soothing, and is used as an anti-depressant in herbal medicine. Rosebuds are used to ease nervous tension and stress, and have a calming effect on the mind. This combination works together to enhance the light, subtle flavor of the white tea leaves. This tea brews into a golden liquor with a very soothing fragrance, and is perfect before, during, or after a stressful day.

The jasmine shows through more than anything, but this is a delicate and wonderfully floral tea. One of my current favorites. This is certainly a tea that you can sit back and relax with.

Sipdown (260)

Flowers in a mug. Not as offensive as I expected. No pot pourri dryness. However, I am not a floral tea type of person so this isn’t for me.

Sipdown (640)!

Another VariaTEA share – this one has been sitting on my sipdown counter for all five days of my vacation and I’ve just completely put off drinking it. Something shinier/fancier always caught my attention and I made that instead.

I’m glad I did finally brew it up though because it’s pretty soft and delicate and the gentle touch of florals has created this really relaxing break inbetween the afternoon and early evening. I need to go out to the mall at some point today and I’ve just been putting off doing that; but I think after drinking this tea I might finally be ready to head out.

Rose and jasmine notes, and a soft, sweet fruity undertone. I can’t tell if the white/green tea in the blend are just really naturally fruity or if there’s been fruit flavour added into the blend – I guess, if it is flavour, that’s a good sign? Points to the quality of flavouring used if I’m unsure if it’s there or not. Basically the fruit notes are very lychee like (probably because the blend is so floral) but with a really mild white peach element as well. There’s a bit of a sour grassy taste; from the base tea(s) – maybe I pushed my steep time a touch long…

I’m really enjoying this! It’s creating its own moment of zen.

A pretty tea to look at and to taste. I can taste the jasmine and rose. I steeped it too hot forgetting that it was a white tea, but after reading the reviews I was glad I did use hotter water than suggested. The taste is not overwhelming but is prevalent. I thoroughly enjoyed this tea, so glad to have a second steep of this coming.

This was okay, but I’m not the right audience for rose teas or white teas. I found I liked this better as it cooled down, there were sweeter notes in the tea leaves that came forward and make the florals feel more like dessert toppings rather than perfume or soap. A small thing, but I liked that the samples I received were loose leaf tea in little single-serve packets. Cute and travel friendly.

I was not to sure about this one. But I only got a cheap $1 sample of it, so what the heck?

I actually was pretty impressed with it. I was worried that the rose would overpower the jasmine, or vice versa. I was also not too sure how the white and green teas would blend in body-if it would be too grassy, OVERLY floral, or overly dry. But I had none of those problems, save flower power. I like highly floral teas anyway. Jasmine and rose are equally strong. The jasmine provides the strong, floral creaminess it normally does but in the beginning sip and in the aftertaste while rose is present in the middle.

The tea is actually on the sweeter side-which could be attributed to the flowers or the jasmine pearls. The jasmine pearls themselves are pretty excellent, but I gotta give kudos to the white tea for having such a smooth body and an occasional malt, or cocoa like tasting note. I thought it tasted a lot like the Teabox Glendale White Darjeeling I have, but a lot sweeter and more packed with flavor. In some ways, I would describe this tea more like a Mediterranean or maybe an Indian Dessert.

I would definitely recommend this tea for flower lovers. My main criticism is the price and the quantity of tea leaves you need per cup.

ooo sounds good!

Just took a look at their website though, they’re US based which means the Canadian dollar + duties would kill me :(

Yeah. It is a good tea, but personally not worth the price.

I love the way this smells! I love the way this looks with the beautiful rosebuds! I wish I loved the way it tastes. However, I’m just not a fan of drinking flowers. A friend I served it to just loved it. As for me, it’s mild enough that I can drink it when I want a fairy springtime atmosphere but it’s not a tea I find myself wanting to drink for the flavour.

This tea smells and looks awesome, but I don’t really like green tea and drinking flowers. So I’m not particularly fond of this tea, besides smelling it. But if you like light, flowery teas, I’d give it a try.
