From The Republic of Tea

Plentiful in beta carotene and fiber, apricots keep eyes bright and aid in digestion. The tart-sweet, somewhat musky flavor lends itself to the deep, rich notes of naturally decaffeinated black tea.

The Republic of Tea Fair Trade Certified Tea provides an additional pro-active premium paid directly to tea estate workers in addition to the fair wage paid to them in the garden. This premium is used in ways workers themselves deem beneficial, improving their opportunities to better housing, healthcare and education.

I nicked a bag of this from the spa last time I was there, just to see what it was like. :) It was the only black tea they had on offer, which makes sense since you are there to relax.

It’s not too bad, really. Decently strong apricot flavor with a light hint of sweetness. I left the bag in the cup for like 30 minutes when I got sidetracked into reviewing some of the husband’s photography. Not in the least bit bitter. The only downside is as the cup cools more with the bag still in there, I’m not sure, but I think I taste the bag. Just a mild papery taste in the background which is totally my fault and not that of the tea. :)

If I was limited to bagged tea, I think RoT would be my choice for a lot of things.

This was pretty decent. It was more peachy than apricoty. It was sweet and pleasant though.

Doesn’t taste like much, but still tasted good.

I want to make this word bold.

I tasted absolutely nothing wit this tea. I don’t have a sense of smell, so I don’t actually taste much anyway, but I had this at the height of the worst cold I’ve had in a long time, so that probably didn’t help. It was literally warm water. At least it wasn’t sour, bitter or astringent. I got plenty of flavor from the Cold 911, so it couldn’t have been only the cold that kept me from tasting anything from this one.

I keep trying to find another caffeine free tea to add to my evening rotation. This one was drinkable, but nothing I need to order a tin of. I have another teabag of it and I will try it again.

Harney has a decaf peach and a decaf apricot!

I really shouldn’t like this: I don’t particularly love apricots after all. However, for a decaf tea, I really like it! Going into regular rotation.

A nice, light apricot flavor. Despite brewing this for a long time, it hasn’t gotten bitter. Kinda weak, but it’d probably be stronger if I didn’t have only 1 bag in 12 oz.

This is a staple for me, I always have it around and when I go on trips I always bring a few bags of it in a ziploc, along with a few bags of Yogi ginger. On a plane I just ask for hot water and then I can brew myself a cup of apricot decaf or yogi ginger, depending on what I’m in the mood for. Apricot Decaf is not the world’s most complex tea but it is a dependable cup of easily brewed apricot tea with a top fruity note and good bottom note from the black tea. It doesn’t need any milk or sugar, it is delicious just as it is.
