I’ve been meaning to get to this tea for some time, but this is the first time I have remembered I have it, and it is the right time to have it, since it is later in the evening and I don’t want any caffeine before bed.

I wasn’t sure how much to use as it wasn’t printed on the package like the other teas, so I just used 2 (heaping) teaspoons and let it steep about 5-6 minutes. Coming here, I see the instructions say to use more, but I think I used the right amount for my tastes.

There is definitely a smell of pineapple with the dry mixture. Once brewed, I can’t really taste anything beyond the tartness. I’ve never been a hibiscus fan, and while roselle is milder, it is still tart. Much more tolerable tart, but more for iced than hot tart.

The colour is beautiful, and the taste is a little lighter than the Blueberry tea, though I think the Blueberry tea is a bit more complex in flavours. I do prefer the Blueberry over this one…though this one will probably be made iced, and possibly blended with sparkling water or juice as a summer treat.

My thanks to Angel at Teavivre for sending this generous sample my way!

Thank you for this generous sample, Teavivre!!

I was in the mood for something new but caffeine free, and after the wild success of their Milk Oolong, I eagerly dove into my box of Teavivre samples.

This was nice! It was juicy and tropical. It as delicious hot and even more delicious cold. I think the rest of this sample will go towards iced tea. Beautiful.

The roselle did get a bit tart for me, but not as bad as hibiscus can be. I did sweeten this one (I sweeten all of my teas) and while it will be no great hardship to finish my very generous sample, this is not a tea I see myself replacing.

A sample I got in my very generous sample bag from Teavivre today. I’m so giddy. Opened up the package to find so many goodies! And I’m so glad I was given an herbal. I end up drinking most of my tea in the evening and night. So herbals are what I usually end up stocking up on around here and I was kinda bored with my current stash.

I open it and the dry fruits smell PRETTY. I mean yes, fruity and pineapple…but PRETTY pineapple. :)

I am going to drink this iced…because I can…and sometimes the idea of drinking warm pineapple and fruit just weirds me out. Unless it has a crust..(ya know…pie crust)…warm fruit is just unnatural. Anyway…

So I went ahead and steeped the whole sample packet and I’m going to put it on ice. I really enjoy drinking my fruity herbals this way. It’s so refreshing and brisk.

Anyway….back to waterlilies….

It’s brewed and it still smells…PRETTY!. :)
Sipping on it warm and it’s still pretty…but in that slap you in your face with too much lip gloss kinda pretty. It’s sweet, and fruity and good but woooooweeeee! That’s tart. Like lemonade tart! Gonna have to put this on ice for sure! But I will say it is PACKED with juicy flavor. It’s juicy and good but watch out for the tart…

So on ice….

It’s like KoolAid red!

But mmmmmm….so good. It’s like the most adult fruit punch I’ve ever had…adult in that it isn’t too sweet…but my god don’t add sweetener! And the tartness has mellowed a bit. It’s fresh pineapple and def apple. I don’t get too much of the rose hip…well maybe a little…maybe that’s why it feels like a grown up fruit punch and not my 4 year olds juice box.

I mean seriously…I really like it. It makes a really nice fun, fruity drink…like juice but the most refreshing juice ever… I find juice to be too thick and sickly sweet….this is great. It’s not like flavored water which is what happens to some of my other fruity herbals on ice…it holds it’s own in that icy glass.

I recommend as a fun fruity summer beverage on a hot day.

This sample was sent to me by Angel and the wonderful Teavivre team. And many thanks to them!
This herbal tea has an amazing aroma and a beautiful color when brewed. It has a sweet pineapple/citrus flavor. I love the tart taste so I didn’t sweeten it.. But it almost reminds me of an unsweetened fruit punch. It is absolutely delicious! And I could only imagine it would be even more so iced! Definitely going to be ordering more.

This tea was quite different from the other fruit teas I’ve tried. Upon opening the package the aroma is quite tropical. I went to brewing for 8 minutes, the color was a deep red like the other teas but the difference is the taste was much lighter and less tart in comparison to the blueberry fruit tea.

Decided to finish off what I had left of this favorite tea as cold brew for the February sipdown prompt “Pair a tea to a favorite fairytale.” I collect mermaids, so obviously “The Little Mermaid” is one (among many) of my favorite fairytales, and the tropical flavor plus the name give me a water/ocean vibe.

Not much to say about the tea itself; it’s a strong hibi-hip fruit tea, the kind that is tart and fruit punchy, but I like my teas on the tart/tarter/tartest side. It has a really nice, refreshing pineapple flavor as well. I like it cold and straight up, with no sweetener.

Cold Brew!

This was surprisingly a lot better than I expected. I’m nearly positive that I have cold brewed it before, but this was unlike any experience I recall having with this blend. It was pretty smooth, although still had a tartness/tangyness. I’d say it was sort of like a pineapple heavy fruit punch/juice type thing? With lots of hibiscus, as well.

But just not as intensely sour as I’ve experienced it in the past.

LuckyMe

Yeah Teavivre seems to use hibiscus a lot in their blends. I don’t hate hibiscus but it tends to dominate. I never tried cold brewing though. Wonder if that might tame the sourness

If you like Teavana’s fruity teas, you will enjoy this blend. It tastes like a hibiscus spiked fruit punch. The hibiscus is clearly the dominant flavor in the brewed tea and if you drink it straight, that’s all you will taste. Although I don’t usually don’t sweeten my tea, this one does benefit with the addition of a little sugar. It tempers the sourness of the hibiscus and brings out the other fruit flavors, which aren’t really discernable on their own but meld together nicely. If chilled, this would make a fantastic iced tea.

This is really tasty – I made it to be iced, as I am anticipating plowing through my iced tea collection rather quickly now that 80+ degree days are the norm, and I might need more of this. A lot more. It has hibiscus, which I don’t mind, but it isn’t overpowering like many other fruit blends are. I definitely taste the pineapple as the primary flavor, with the citrussy orange working with the hibiscus to give it a sour bite. I made 16ish oz of it with a teaspoon of sugar, and it balances out the flavors wonderfully.
