This exquisite tea originates from the pristine hills of Nepal, at the foot of the majestic Himalayan Mountains, at a 6000 ft elevation. The beautiful, tippy leaf yields a coppery-orange brew that is rich and complex in flavor. Excellent hot or extraordinary as an iced tea, it will quickly become the most beloved addition to your black tea collection.
How to Prepare
Use 1 teaspoon of tea per 8oz of water. Heat water to 195 degrees and steep for 2-2.5 minutes. 2oz of tea equals 25-30 teaspoons.

This is the first of several teas I have finished off in the last week. I mention that because it was that good…it went first. This being a Nepal tea, I don’t know where it fits in the spectrum of India teas vs China teas. Based purely on taste and probably incorrect sterotypes of tea regions, I’d say its more of a Chinese tea…. Regardless, its lightness in body and flavor makes it a good sipping tea; the kind I like when I need something to occupy my hands and not my brain. Book reading tea.

My experience with Teavana is pretty minimal — but the one flavor combo/blend I’ve tried was pretty good. Do the sales folks suggest the combos or were you just luckily adventurous?
they are very pushy so you need to be in a i know what i want mood, or willing to spend an arm and leg (then again they get fired otherwise) – i went in and said i like snow geisha, and i like jasmine pearls + rooibos tropica, what would you suggest, iced – and ended up with this – we were on vacation in the summer (extreme backlog) and in a mall and saw teavana, i can’t resist tea
The first tea from Teavana that I can safely say isn’t the slightest bit overpriced. As soon as I took my first wiff in the store, this became an instant favorite. The leaves in this tea are of a very high quality that no other Teavana tea that I’ve tried has even come close to matching. I use a mesh ball strainer for loose tea which usually leaves a tolerable amount of tiny escapee leaves and general detritus floating around, but this tea has none of that whatsoever. The flavor itself is surprisingly similar to the smell of the dry leaves minus an extra chocolaty note that I didn’t pick up in the actual tea which isn’t incredibly strong, but has a deep complexity which seems to dance around in the space between floral and crawfish boil. I can’t really describe it, to be perfectly honest. You’ll just have to try it yourself.
This tea was discontinued, which is too bad because it’s pretty good. A tasty everyday tea. Multiple steeps with good strong flavor. Many steeps if you don’t mind the flavor tapering off a little bit. It’s a clean black tea with some delicate floral notes. Slightly roasty.
Wow…this tea…wow. As someone who is very sensitive to bitter tastes, I tend to shy away from black tea. This tea does not have that problem though. I followed the directions and the result is this wonderful smooth black tea that, when iced and sweetened, there are some dangerous consequences-you CANNOT go back to buying $5 or $6 per ounce black tea. At least I can’t. Guess what happened when I tried? I brewed one cup of the cheap stuff and said to hell with the cost! This truly is the champagne of black tea, plus you can re-infuse the leaves at least 3x and it still tastes good. So, even though it is more pricey up front, the fact that it tastes so great and you can brew multiple cups speaks for itself.
Just enjoyed a “cuppa” of Himalayan Majestic. There is body, but nice on the palate. Love the color. I just found out that it is no longer carried at Teavana, but when I called the store they assured me that their new “Himalayan Splendor” is very similar. I will have to try it to find out.
