MilitiaJim-If this was sold as a coconut tea it would be pretty good, three stars maybe. Sold as a mango flavor, the complete lack of mango earns it zero stars and a snarl of irritation.
AmazonV-What he said, It was a good coconut tea, but the disappointment at the lack of mango (the reason I bought the tea, he loves mango) runs high.
Luckily I am sharing this tea with some other people and did not get the larger size. They can be forewarned this is a yummy coconut tea and be happy with it instead of being surprised and unhappy.
Post-Steep Additives: German rock sugar, I always love sweeter things for dessert.

Fragrance, dry leaves: Coffee. Okay, I’m beginning to think that all nutty rooibos blends smell like coffee to me. There’s coffee and there’s a sort of generally tropical thing going on, but I don’t know that I can actually smell coconut and mango. I’m just a teensy bit on the irked side that the list of ingredients doesn’t actually contain the word mango anywhere, just “flavoring.”
Fragrance, brewed tea: Coffee. Generally tropical something or other. Also, something nutty. But not specifically coconut-ty.
Flavour: There’s the coconut! And even the mango, sort of. It’s not really evident, but because I know it’s there, I can search for it and find the flavour.
In the end, it may just be that I’m not a fan of these tropical flavours. It may be that I should try this iced. It may be that I wasn’t paying enough attention and didn’t steep it properly. For the time being, what I’m feeling is that something is missing here. I’ll try it again at a later time and hopefully improve my rating.
This smells like coconut and warm mango juice. It tastes… weird. There’s an almost alcoholic taste but the more I sip, the more I think it is just how the mango juice flavor comes across when hot. It’s very nutty and woody (thankfully not sour woody) but I can’t determine what kind of nut.
As it cools, I get flashes of coconut that override the mango. I definitely like it more once it cools a bit – the flavors blend better and the alcohol taste goes away. This is definitely not as good as their Coconut Custard, but it’s probably one of the best fruity rooibos I’ve had.
When hot it makes me think of a toasty Macallan scotch. It’s kind of apple-y in the way that some of the lighter, sweeter scotches are. The mango flavor is outdone by the nutty and I have a hard time finding any of the coconut in it. It’s interesting but not great.

:) I am seriously trying to get it clean, and dry, and swap for one of the other pretty ones…but i keep forgetting (i have one in my fiance’s clan plaid!)
Hmmm a 50 that’s disappointing. You know I do love coconut though so this might not be a bad thing.
I think the 50 is more because we were disappointed in the lack of mango…but not as good as coconut custard for sure-stick to that one (yumyum)
So I am to keep pushing coconut custard right? LOL
YES Step 1 get everyone addicted, then step 2..?…, step 3 PROFIT! gotta figure out that middle step first
Step 2 could be keeping drinking coconut custard ourselves!! I know that in Scarface we learned your not suppose to “get high on your own supply” but since I’m pretty positive AL Pacino wasn’t referring to tea this rule does not apply.
I’m revisiting this post and thought ’what’s a mango nut’???? They have these huge seed pods, don’t they? I think I am losing it…. What really is a mango nut?
