Toys R Us two Saturdays before Christmas…what were we thinking? Ever notice that there are far fewer dancing, grinning shoppers in the real stores than there are on the commercials?

Between battling crowds and bitter cold, I am glad to be back home in my hobbit hole cuddling this lovely cozy cup after a quick lunch-and-errand run. It’s perfectly sweet coconut-candy-pina-colad-y, sunny and cheerful on a raw, cloudy afternoon. For just a moment, it might make you forget the gloom.

It was for a good cause, but mercy! Sensory overload on so many levels!

Ok seriously, right off the bat, the aroma of the dry leaf reminded me of a fantabulously tasty thai dish I had last time I was at a fancy Thai restaurant. Even the steeped tea smells like that! Now I want Thai food.

Well would you look at that. It even tastes like that too! There’s a perfect balance between the lemongrass and coconut. There’s a gentle creaminess to the coconut too, like in a coconut lemongrass curry sans spice.

Glad I picked out a sample of this one. I’ll admit that I didn’t really expect it to taste Thai-esque because I have a tea with very similar ingredients and they smell and taste totally differently. This one lives up to its name.

This is a new tea from TeaFrog (according to their site, and I couldn’t find it on here). I was a little leery of it at first, because I seem to be frequently disappointed at teas that promise me coconut! When I recieved the sample, I couldn’t really notice any coconut pieces in the tea, but happily, the flavour does come out! It is a very light tasting and refreshing ( I bet it would be nice iced too) and the coconut isn’t overpowering or chemical tasting (as I find many coconut things are).

I think I would buy a full size bag of this tea.

Had this tea yesterday. Wasn’t picking up the lemongrass as much as the coconut but it definitely does smell Thai like. The coconut flavour doesn’t come across as tasting too artificial either. It’s a great tasting tea. I think I was a bit distracted when drinking it so I don’t have a lot to say on it. Holding off rating until I have it again.
