Delicious. This was a change from my usual T2 Melbourne Breakfast, but the concept of vanilla & cinnamon intrigued me. And it was a good choice! The pancakes impression is seriously strong. If I didn’t know that I was supposed to be tasting cinnamon, I’m not sure I’d identify it as such, so if you’re not a fan of that flavour in your tea, I wouldn’t worry. I’m not sure this will make it onto my “must always have available” shortlist, but I’m definitely going to enjoy it while I have it. Buttery, maple, and cosy.

An English Breakfast tea, with added flavour – mainly vanilla and cinnamon, plus something else apparently designed to make it taste like “pancakes”, but to me is more of a bread-y taste.

Brewed hot – just off 100c – for just under 4 minutes. Any more is likely to burn it. Added a touch of milk (only around 10mls) just to remove any astringency.

I find that sugar / sweetener isn’t required due to the vanilla and cinnamon.

To sum up – a warming staple good for winter mornings!

Had a cup this morning, from a sample I got when I purchased some tea at the relatively new T2 retail down in SoHo. I brewed it in the infuser I purchased from them, so it was all very easy, but weird for me as I usually make a pot of tea at a time, not a cup. It’s a very nice black tea, with cinnamon and vanilla notes as well as something earthy going on. I can’t quite determine that component, but on the whole, it was a nice complement to my breakfast. Maybe the earthy thing was supposed to be the pancake flavor they describe, but it didn’t seem like pancakes to me. That would have been wonderful, because I just looooove pancakes. Especially for dinner.
