As soon as water hit the leaf I could smell mint. I am not a fan of spearmint in tea, or candy, or even gum. It’s just not my thing. Surprise, this is peppermint! Peppermint I like. The brew is golden green in the press and a bit darker in the mug.

The sip is interesting. The mint is the main flavor, then directly under it is a kind of peppery ginger flavor. There is no ginger listed so this must be the ginko biloba I am tasting. This has a sweetness to it from the stevia leaf. The green tea fills out the flavor, Green tea and mint are in the aftertaste.

If I were to ever want to sip mint tea this is one I would definitely consider. Bonus it leaves your breath feeling minty cool.

Mind Boost Mint – Steap Shoppe – 2/10/2014

Took a break from tea for the weekend because of a vague cold-like thing that I still have but now I’m at work and I need tea. I made this without looking at the ingredients first (stupid me) and have just now realized that this has stevia in it so I’m now not expecting much. Otherwise, we’ll see. I like mint.

Well, it is a little overly sweet and the stevia taste is bleh but it’s mostly pleasing on the first sip. The mint is somewhat subdued to me by the other flavours. I think I’m picking up what must be gingko biloba but I’m not sure, never having tasted that separately before. There’s a certain earthiness that I’m not familiar with in here.

I imagine my taste buds are sort of dulled from my sort of cold and my mind is dull from the cold and lack of sleep and the aftermath of an adrenalin rush from my car accident last night (my fault, stupid mistake). I wish I didn’t have a headache.

Thanks Azzrian

I thought this tasted like a Mint/Gingko Baloba/Licorice combo. It took me a while to realize it also had Gunpowder Green Tea in it! The flavors over power the tea itself and it taste a bit too licorice-y for me upfront but as I continue to drink it – I got used to it a bit more.

This one is alright. A nice pick-me-up and packs a powerful punch of flavor if you like those flavors.

Not my favorite but not too shabby either.

Confession: I don’t really like mint. I know… mint can be so awesome. It is good if you feel sick, it smells amazing, it’s great in candy canes and of course, in mint juleps (I do like making mint juleps with my own wild mint and homemade simple syrup), lots of great stuff!
But mint in tea isn’t my cuppa. That said, this tea was pretty nice. I feel like there is stevia in it, it had a pleasant sweetness to it. I ended up getting to my cup when it was a little cooler. I want to try this again, hotter and with a little more leaf to water.
But heck, I’m impressed. It was a mint tea that I didn’t dislike!

ETA – I just saw in the description that the tea has ginko in it – maybe that was the sweet element? I definitely have to try this again!

ETA Again – Thanks, STEAp Shop for the sample! This is for the Virtual Tea Tasting 9/23/12

Yum! I think it’s super awesome that sTEAp Shoppe doesn’t use “flavor enhancers” as they call them. Not that that’s a big issue in this tea, but something that I just find kinda of cool!

Anyway, on to the tea. I love green tea and mint, be it peppermint or spearmint. Either works! This one has peppermint but not a overpowering amount (which is really easy to do with peppermint). Not sure what the ginkgo brings, I’d have to see what it tasted like on it’s own. The stevia adds a nice sweetness, but again not too much. Nice cuppa. :)

Glad you enjoyed it! The Ginko is a fairly docile herb flavor that seems to do more for combining the other flavors than punching out it’s own. The use of it was geared to reviving you since Ginko is known for it’s ability to help memory. Caffeinated green tea , the alertness peppermint can bring combined with the memory boosting of Ginko. It was made for a brisk morning wake up to get through a tough day at work.

sTEAp Shoppe has been generous and sent me this sample for their Virtual Tea Tasting for today (9/23). Thank you so much!

First and foremost, I would like to say that I am not an individual that is fond of or love mint in anything besides a peppermint candy. However, recently my mind has been slightly changed so I was actually curious about how I would like this one.

The name of the tea intrigued me and I decided that I would especially save this for this morning. I brewed it to approximately 175 degrees fahrenheit. I steeped it for approximately three to four minutes. The fragrance was of a wonderful and irresistible scent of mint, which I must say that I became excited to taste it.

The taste was lovely; a fresh mint taste without being overwhelming. There is a sweetness, which I enjoyed. Drinking this tea made me feel more calm, which is good because this weekend has been a rollercoaster of emotions and late nights. Today is a cool but bright sunny autumn day, which is definitely cheering me up after experiencing cloudy and rainy days; days of inconsistent weather here in New York.
The tea liquor is a light/golden caramel color. It was a smooth cup of tea that I drank. I very much enjoyed this experience and I must say that I find myself officially converted to enjoying a mint tea. Who would of thought that I would ever say that?! I guess it’s true when people say “Never say never.”

Once again, thank you sTEAp Shoppe for being so kind and sharing this sample with me. I am forever grateful at your wonderful customer service as well as impressed with how quickly I received my samples. I would also like to say that I love the packaging of your samples, that contain clear instructions/information on your tea label.

Sipdown! I recieved this one in a swap and I can’t remember who sent it to me…. But THANK you! It’s absolutely delicious! It’s not your normal green tea and mint. It has a lovely liquorice and mint flavor. The green tea is a bit overpowered but in this blend it’s ok. It works. It’s very uplifting. I really enjoyed this :]
