I have received this tea bag from ashmanra with wonderful New Year (and Christmas) greeting card. Thank you!

Apparently, again a new tea bag for my collection. And apparently a day with most tea drank today, so far in this week. Compensation for yesterday with only two cups.

Anyway to Organic Very Berry. It’s hibiscus and thus tart. I don’t notice any rooibos. I can believe being it super tasty iced and Mastress Alita would be a fan of this as well. Red currants. Nope, they aren’t in. But raspberries? I guess so.

Well, I think I had better berry teas. This is a bit overflowes with hibiscus. It’s just unfortunately very tart. If it was less tart, I would enjoy this tea more, I am sure.

Some Stash teas are at my local grocery, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen this one. I frequently grab their “Apple Cinnamon Chamomile” which is also a hibiscus bomb and I love it… so much so I always steep it with two teabags in the cup, haha!

Wow, that got there must faster than the Christmas card, Martin! I really didn’t expect the tea to be great, but I thought you might like the brightly colored tea bags!

ashmanra

BTW, I think your tea has made it to you faster than the one I mailed at the same time that is just traveling here in the US!

I certainly enjoy the bright tzea bags. They are new for my collection and that is always good, even the tea isn’t that great. That happens and I don’t mind. And it was nice surprise from you, actually we had same idea toghether :)

There are no preparation instructions on the box so it took some trial and error before I got it right. I almost gave up on this tea after my first cup but I am glad I came back and tried preparing it differently.

1st try – 96 degree Celsius water for about 6 minutes
I liked the fruit flavors mixed with rooibos but it was way too tart. Rating 50/100

2nd try – Ice water for about 1 hour
Still a bit tart but not as bad as the first try. Rating 70/100

3rd try – about 90 degree Celsius water for about 90 seconds
Very fruity taste blended with rooibos with a tart aftertaste. Rating 70/100

Flavors: Fruity, Rooibos, Tart

Hm. Maybe cold brewed would be better? If that’s your thing :)

Thanks for the good idea!

I just brewed another cup but this time I brewed it in ice water for 1 hour. I enjoy it a bit more this way. It still tastes tart but it’s better. If you add a bit of sugar it would probably take the edge off as well. I did not try sugar though… adding sugar to tea is not my thing.

Kristal

I very very rarely add sugar as well.

Glad it’s improved a bit!

This is… kind of gross actually. It really clashes with itself, it might be the rooibos. I’m having really bad luck with my Stash teas today.
