This is definitely the strangest tasting Yerba Mate I have ever tasted. I really like Yerba Mate but the salted caramel really wasn’t my thing.

Flavors: Caramel, Salt

drank Orange Pekoe by Tetley

This tastes alright but it is a bit weak. I made 500ml of tea with 1 bag which works great with Red Rose brand orange pekoe tea but it was a bit weak so next time I will use 2 bags or make less tea.

Preparation
Boiling 4 min, 0 sec 17 OZ / 500 ML

I saw a box of 60 bags on sale for $3.00 so I decided to pick up a box. This brings me up to 73 teas in my cupboard! I keep telling myself I need to finish some of the teas before I get more but It never works out that way. My tea stash just keeps expanding.

I was pleasantly surprised at how good it tasted. It was a bold taste but not bitter which is what I like.

The instructions say that one bag is good for two cups of tea so I made 500 ml (2 cups) and after steeping at 100 C for 5 minutes it made 2 medium strength cups of tea (which is perfect for me). However, if you like it strong or add milk you might want to use one bag per cup.

Preparation
Boiling 5 min, 0 sec 17 OZ / 500 ML

Profile

Bio

I just recently got into tea (fall of 2015).

I love trying many types of tea. So far I have tried many Black, Oolong, Green and White teas as well as Yerba Mate, Rooibos, Honey Bush, Chamomile, Mint and fruit teas. I have liked good teas in almost every category. I don’t go for overly bitter/astringent, tart, or sweet teas and I never add milk/cream, sugar or other sweeteners to my tea.

Even though I have many excellent teas I always want to try a new one just to see what it tastes like and if I like it even better than my current favorites. Eventually I will focus more on drinking my favorites rather than always trying a different type of tea.

Ratings:

85+ Excellent and I will definitely repurchase soon so I don’t run out.

75-84 Really good and I will probably buy it again.

65-74 Good and I might buy it again but on the other hand maybe I won’t repurchase.

50-64 OK and I might finish the box.

1-49 Really did not like it at all. I probably dumped out the rest of the cup for the teas on the lower end of this range.

I am only doing one review per tea. If I drink it multiple times and my opinion changes then I will go back and update my rating and tasting notes.
