My one Wisdom Tooth is throbbing – it doesn’t hurt – but there is a strange sensation there. I was hoping this wintergreen would give it some relief. I had 3 cups so far. It’s yummy but not sure if it’s doing anything to actually help. See other notes

gmathis

Little clove oil, if you have any on hand, helps also.

Indigobloom

What Gmathis said!! only I used an actual clove. Cuz I didn’t know you could buy the oil :)

TeaEqualsBliss

Thanks! What about Clove Powder? It’s all I ‘got’ – but I am feeling better today…so far!

Indigobloom

I’m sure that’d work to but I found the clove helped when held in place. Not sure how you’d stop the powder from dissolving.
Glad you’re feeling better!

I was excited to see a wintergreen matcha! I love wintergreen! It is my favorite flavor out of all the mint flavors you could find. I’m happy I saved it for last. Last is best of all the game, right? You can find it here:

MMM this smells like wintergreen Altoids! I could eat a pack of them a day. And I do :[ My wintergreen Altoid habit is getting expensive.. haha The smell is very strong and wakes my senses up a little bit. It’s slightly spicy, slightly sweet. It made my entire tv room smell like wintergreen. Now let’s see how it tastes…
Woo! It even tastes like wintergreen Altoids! The flavor is spicy, sweet, and cooling. I feel like mints and green tea go together quite well. In this case they make a perfect couple! They compliment each other. You think it would be weird hot but I almost prefer it hot! And it makes an excellent iced matcha as well, obviously.. I can see myself running out of this quickly. This is a very unique one, too. I haven’t seen many wintergreen flavored teas around so I’m very happy I found this one :] I’d recommend you give this one a try if you are a fan of mint teas!

The day has finally come where I mustered up the courage to try this tea. I got it in my very first swap with aisling of tea and De about 3 months ago.

I’ve never tried matcha before on my own. I’ve had fruit smoothies with matcha powder at the mall, and I’ve tried green tea ice cream, but this is still a new experience for me.

I ended up mixing a full David’s Perfect Teaspoon (about 2.5 tsp) with a cup of almond milk and a cup or so of vanilla ice cream.

Mixed up, I’m not quite sure what to make of this. It’s minty, but the green undertone of the tea isn’t quite meshing well for me. Also, it tastes kind of chemically, when I was really expecting just to get a clear sweet mint taste like lifesavers.

I’m not sure if I did this correctly. I took the powder, put a splash of almond milk in to make it a paste, mixed in the rest of the milk, and then added the powder/milk mix to the blender with the ice cream. Any pointers here? I’ve probably got at least a few tsp of this left to finish off and I’d feel bad just throwing it out.

Marzipan

David’s perfect teaspoon doesn’t measure a teaspoon?

mj

The matchas (except the Matchccino) that I’ve tried have all been labeled with these instructions: 0.5tsp matcha + 8oz milk + a few ice cubes and then blend. You can add sugar or sweetener if you want too.

Christina / BooksandTea

I got them in a swap, so I wasn’t able to see the original packaging. I checked out the Red Leaf site, though, and their recipe for matcha lattes said to use 1 tbsp of matcha, so I followed that. I guess I should try less leaf next time.

@Marzipan – David’s Perfect Teaspoons are larger than the normal ones, and there was a thread on the forum a while back that said that their capacity is about 2.5 tsp, so that’s what I based my measurements on.

mj

Weird! I was just going by the directions on the inserts that come with the match…which are very different than the instructions on the website. I think someone else on Steepster told me the same instructions that I told you. But I could totally be crazy.

Did you ever try to see if there were 2.5 tsp in David’s Tea perfect teaspoon? I think it’s closer to a tablespoon but never measured myself.

I freaking love this tea. I’m surprised I haven’t reviewed it before. Oh well.

As we were packaging up some of this for Christina, I knew I needed to have some soon. Unfortunately, every time I remembered it, it was after 4 pm and I knew that if I had a cup, I wouldn’t sleep.

But today, it was awful hard to get up, so I am all over this matcha thing. This matcha is lovely, I’m drinking it cold with some sugar and it tastes just like a wintergreen lifesaver. Yum.

keychange

I am embarking on my “discover all the matcha!” journey, and wintergreen is also among my favourite mint tastes. May I ask what level of flavouring you thought was appropriate for this matcha? nom!

Roswell Strange

Is this one any good in milk? I only do my matcha one of two ways; club soda or cold milk. I don’t think it’d be great as soda – but I’m thinking it might make for an interesting, creamy “candy cane” like milk drink.

Daddyselephant

keychange – I ordered all of my matcha at the delicate level because at the time, Red Leaf Tea was still doing their “free matcha for reviews” and anything over delicate was extra $, though this one I would drink at any level, it’s so darn good.

Roswell – I imagine it would be, but I drink my matcha mixed with agave or sugar and water, so I can’t say for sure.

keychange

mmm i am so definitely doing this in milk when I get it! I bet it’d be awesome.

Daddyselephant

I can’t wait to see how you like it, keychange!
