Interesting combination of houjicha and toasted rice! The aroma of toasted rice is very powerful when brewed (just like regular genmaicha), but the taste of rice is much less strong in the liquor. Rather, the sweetness and roasted flavour of houjicha dominates the cup. The perfect autumn drink that warms you up.

The TTB has arrived! So big, so many teas… no chance to try them all!
Tea #14

Okay, take houjicha and genmai… and you got Hifumi.

I won’t lie, I took this tea rather for it’s outer wrapping, but this profile souned good in early autumn afternoon. It was sunny, no cloud in sight, but it is getting colder and dark fast!

The flavour, for this unknown old, tea bag, is a bit vague. The houjicha is indeed giving roasted note, but in my opinion quite weakly and not much of toasted rice is present as well.

Sadly, all the flavours were a bit weak. That is the biggest dismal about this tea, but maybe I just needed to steep it long, though I have steeped it for recommended 2 minutes only.

PTS TTB

This is nice and roasty, but still mild and gentle. Like a comfy fluffy blanket on a cold day.

This tea has the unmistakably roasty smell of genmaicha. It’s made with ancient rice, brown rice and rice pops. The flavor is very good and I had a nice, warm fuzzy feeling as I was drinking this. That lasted until I read my emails at work and lost my happy tea buzz.

The tea was very enjoyable. Work is not.
