From Lupicia

Momo is black tea scented with fresh, Japanese white peaches. Peach leaves are blended for an added fruitiness. A great choice for making iced tea.

Hadn’t had this one in a long time, and rediscovered it while sorting my tea cabinet. It really hit the spot this morning. Doctored up with soy milk and sugar, it tastes just like peaches and cream. Yum!

So, I reorganized my tea cabinet. I mean, gotta make way for the 8.8 oz of Ceylon Star on its way, right?! ;) I actually was able to clear out one of the large containers I use to hold various teas, which is pretty awesome! I also sorted all my rooibos teas into one container, because I really have to be in the mood for that. I also have one container full of samples…I guess I know now why everyone dedicates Saturday for sipdowns…too many samples! And besides all the good stuff, I have a container of teas I don’t wanna ever drink again….not sure what to do with those yet. I feel like some of them are so lame, I wouldn’t even want to give them to people. Hmmm. Do any of you throw away tea if you feel like you shouldn’t subject others to the disappointment? Well, guess I better work on those samples!

This was a morning staple for me for a while when I was still living at home. It doesn’t smell or taste like the usual artificial peach variant, but has a deeper, more genuinely fruity flavor. I was really pleasantly surprised because this is a black tea that still manages to retain the taste of black tea while at the same time tasting like peaches. It’s hard to explain. The flavor doesn’t overpower me, though it’s definitely not a weak tea.

It smells like heaven as it brews.

I haven’t tried it iced, but I’m sure it’ll taste great. Next on my list of things to do at home once I fetch the tin from my tea drawer at work.

Okay, true confession, I bought this one because of the smell.

It smells exactly like those sugar peach rings you ate as a kid. The taste didn’t really match the aroma at all, which is probably where my rating comes in. Its an alright tea, just probably destined for ice-tea in my home.

This tea smells divine, I have a weakness for peaches though. Brewed, it still smells somewhat like peaches, yay! Upon tasting, the peach flavor is less prominent and the black tea takes the stage but there’s definitely a sweetness on the tongue as you drink. Definitely good as a warm tea. The flavor is seeming to mellow out as I continue to consume the pot.

I may try brewing some more up again on another day with more tea and a bit of a longer brew period, as I seem to like my teas somewhat strong.

In all, a pleasant tea with mild flavor that will be good as a complement to my activities, but if my current activity is to sit and revel in a cup of tea this tea wouldn’t be it.

I kind of like it. Kind of weak follow through though, could be fuller. But it is good enough to drink as is (no additives).

I had this hot for breakfast and the remainder iced for lunch. It was a sample I received with an order.

I am honestly disappointed in this one. Maybe I don’t know what white peaches taste like, but after the powerhouse of apricot flavor yesterday from Harney’s Celebration, this one was really mild, both the tea base and the peach flavor. And not just mild, but rather odd tasting.

I did just treat my Kamjove for an odd smell, but I don’t think that was what I tasted because I really felt like the odor was gone in the Kamjove. It should be. I used an Oxiclean soak (pretty much the same thing as Smart Soak), then white vinegar, then baking soda, then a day outside in the sunshine, which really seemed to fully freshen it up. The day of sunshine was yesterday, so all cleaners should be very well cleaned out and any smells dissipated, and I did check Kamjove and found it ready for use.

The color of the steeped tea was pretty light but the bag says it is Momo, not Momo oolong or darjeeling. This is a pretty new sample, so the problem is not due to age.

In other news, I know very well that I had an entire pouch of Momo Vert years ago and there is not one single review from me. Strange. I wanted to compare and see how I liked it.

Merci Milles Fois remains my favorite peach tea from Lupicia for now.

Sipdown.
A solid peach flavored tea. Peach is strong on the nose, but the overall taste isn’t so overpowering. Very true taste, they do well with the fruit flavored teas.
Pretty good tea for the summer months and works well as a cold brew. I did drink most of this hot.

Got this as a free sample in my Lupicia purchase! It definitely smelled peachy—the taste of it is a lot more subdued though. Would probably make a very tasty iced tea.

Sipdown (96)

We are attempting to smuggle kinder eggs into the states (shhh don’t tell) and so we have a cooler in the car with the eggs inside. Then topped with a bunch of cold brewed teas because I decided if the cooler was there, might as well use it.

This was one of the teas hanging out in the cooler and it is nice and cold and bright. The peach flavor is coming through nicely but yet again, the base is strong and thus overpowering the fruit just a bit. I’ve had this as a green tea before and an oolong (I think) and those bases certainly are better suited for this tea.

Your people in the States might need some kitkat too. I even found green tea kitkat here in Koreantown—oh yay!

VariaTEA

Haha the person we are delivering them too doesn’t even really eat chocolate anymore so he said kinder eggs as a joke since they have the whole nostalgic aspect to them. My mom took that to mean he wanted 30 kinder eggs. I think he’d kill us if we brought him anymore chocolate than we already have.

Evol Ving Ness

Ah, but the green tea kitkat. Surely, that’s not really chocolate?

VariaTEA

Haha, I’m not sure if he’d see it that way

Fjellrev

Hope you won’t get caught!

I’ve been so tempted to buy those matcha KitKats, as I’ve seen them at a supermarket here, but they’re quite expensive, over $8 for 10-12 fun-size ones.

Evol Ving Ness

I don’t recall these being all that expensive. Perhaps I need to go back and look more closely.

Argh. Accidentally deleted my note for this tea. (Why is there no “are you sure you want to delete this note??” warning?) Anyhow, the gist of what I said was that the base came off as somewhat smoky to me, which paired interestingly with the moderate peach flavour. And it stood up well to being in a travel mug, and being drank cold, therefore is destined for a home at my boyfriend’s place to be travel-mugged until sipdown.
