I was feeling lazy this afternoon, so I cracked into my jar of Lupica samples. Yume has lots of rose notes without being chemical or perfumey. The rose is on the sweet side too. Mid sip a tart strawberry flavor shows up – all over a smooth black tea base that isn’t dry or bitter. The tea finishes up with the tart and sweet strawberry taste. The rose is very well done here – very good floral black!

I like to have the odd rose black tea, something I drank a lot growing up as loose black rose tea is a common find in Asian grocery stores, I could see myself making Yume my rose black. Oh man, this would be great for afternoon tea too!

This is my favourite of the teas I tried at the Lupicia store today. There is a nice floral and berry scent. That is also what I get in the flavour, with some notes of creamy vanilla. While I really liked this tea, I feel it would be more suited for the Spring months.

That’s definitely a good one! Glad you got to make it to the store! :)

So lovely! I tried this yesterday, because Jump was nice enough to share with Shmiracles, and Shmiracles was nice enough to share with me. I knew this tea was going to be special, and it really was. Someday I will go to a Lupicia store and stock up on all the things.

TeaLady441

Oh you guys should totally do a Lupicia order some time! (Carefully clutches her precious Lupician tins…. Hsssss)

oddree

OH! I forgot that it was only the Golden Honeydew that you can’t get online. And Shmiracles already has a list haha. We’ll def do this sometime!

Thanks to TeaBrat for another delish sample!
I really like this, but I read the description after taking my first few sips… and it didn’t say what I expected, though it is kinda accurate.
Everyone else talks about vanilla, and I guess I can see that, but I’m noticing more of a strawberry/rose note.
At first it reminded me of Marco Polo… but then as my cup drew near empty, I noticed that the base is more astringent, and the tea is less creamy yet more floral. So not that similar heh. But still really tasty, and yes, still reminiscent of a strawberry campino candy!
Of course, I’m not so sure it’d go well with milk.

Sipdown!! (142)

The last of this is off to JustJames because for the life of me I could not make this work for me and since it was on his wishlist, I am hoping he will have better luck. Still, I am grateful to jump62359 for the opportunity to try it out.

So, I am trying it for the last time and this time I cold brewed it for 4 hours. There is more flavor this way but unfortunately all that flavor is coming from the rose. Now, I am learning I don’t hate floral teas as much as some but this is just too much rose for my liking. Oh well, c’est la vie.

jump62359 sent this one my way…. I actually thought this would be one that i would really not like…because flowers? rosebuds? uuuhhhhhhhh floral? blaaah! However, i’m pleased to say that this is not one of those overpowering floral teas of doom that make me sneeze and want it AWAY! Admittedly though, i did pull the couple of rose buds OUT of my tea before brewing heh. Instead this is a slightly sweet, vanilla like tea with a hint of rose. It’s not super floral but it is distinctly “rose.” This is the sort of tea that i would serve to someone i was trying to convince that flowers in teas are not all bad lol. On the whole, it will never be a favourite of mine given my preferences, but i could drink a whole cup..or two..and did :) thanks for making me stretch jump62359!

This was a tea that I wasn’t actually planning on getting.
I wanted to get another tea, but they were sold out of it when I visited. The lady told me that this was similar, just this was black and the other was green buuuut I caved and got it!
I’ve had it before (like years ago) and I thought it was okay.
But now, it’s just decent? Not the best tea I’ve ever tasted, but decent. I still have a dislike for rose petals but I didn’t think that the rose was going to stand out so much. I smelled the dry leaves in the store and it was good! But steeping, the rose comes out a lot.
Not my favourites, but still drinkable and enjoyable :)

EDIT: I feel like I really like my teas as they cool down a bit. The taste of this tea was really strong in the rose when it was piping hot, but after a couple minutes to let it cool, I could actually taste some of the other flavours! Nice all around :)

Very light and pleasant tea. It smells very sweet to me, but it doesn’t taste overly sweet. I could really pick up on the vanilla.

My morning cup of tea! I really enjoyed this especially for the morning. It is light and sweet and it is the perfect start to my morning. I can’t pinpoint the taste but after reading the other reviews I can tell the hint of vanilla and strawberry. It isn’t overpowering at all. I would say this would be my favorite but unfortunately it isn’t organic and they use artificial flavoring. ): If it was, it would have gotten 100!

A floral black tea, with a hint of fruit~ I can barely taste the vanilla. This is a nice, relaxing tea – does not have intense flavors or smells. Overall, a good tea – but I tend to drink cups of this without remembering what it tasted like.
