SIPDOWN! (276 though that will change again tomorrow) I figured i should finish this up and get the rest in a bag for Tastybrew who wanted some. There was just enough to make a small cup after packaging up a few cups worth for her so i said what the heck! Still a lot of teas to get through in the next little while so it’s nice to be able to cross a few off my list. Maybe i’ll have time to re-organise my overflowing cupboards tomorrow after gym and costco :)

Still really like this one, it’s tastier than your average green caramel, which i think is because of all the stuff going on. Happy i got the chance to try this one from Kally tea.

Terri HarpLady

yeah, this was a tasty one! Thanks again for sharing :)

I’m kinda over it. This was ok, but I didn’t really care for it over the other cup I was drinking. It was so plain, and a hair plastic like. Caramel? sure I got that to, just not enough. Ah well, time to move on!
Lowering the rating a bunch of points.

Well, didn’t drink as much tea as I wanted to today since I slept in quite absurdly, and then the boy was over… oh well. Decided to try this one out today, though, since I got my teas from our split Kally order yesterday, and all the girls had given it pretty good reviews.

I have to say that I concur! This is good, and different! I honestly didn’t pay it enough attention to give a solid review, but I enjoyed it quite thoroughly, and it reminded me of Marshmallow Treat Genmaicha… mostly in that it tasted like a flavoured genmaicha, which I apparently have a soft spot for. I can’t say I picked out caramel or cocoa, but I wasn’t really trying, either. It was toasty and sweet, and I’ll hopefully make a better note next time I try it! I’d recommend picking this up if you’re making a Kally order anytime soon and have no aversion to the ingredients in this blend. :D

ETA: I so apologize to you all for popping these all up to the top of your Dashboard again. I bet you’re all “Blah, there goes Kittenna spamming us again!” My apologies :( Anyways, I forgot to note that this re-steeped ok as well, though I didn’t try a third infusion.

boys! such a distraction :P

Kittenna

Mostly I just feel bad not paying attention to him when he’s over!! :P It was bad enough that I had him wait while I brewed like 5 teas to take upstairs to watch Once/Dr Who, haha.

Indigobloom

Bah, if he is dating you then he understands! all part of a tea lovers charm :)

Sil Sample Sipdown #1 (of the day)!
This is an interesting tea. The main flavor I’m getting is a toasty rice breakfast cereal, or a sweet rice crispy treat, with salted butter. I’m also thinking of a payday bar type confection, with the rich caramel center, only with toasted rice on the outside instead of peanuts.
It is tasty. Thanks Sil!

Sil

i have to be up for another 12+ hours…. going to be peeing alllll night as i drink lots and lots of tea haha finally made it to 300

Terri HarpLady

Geez! Why the sleep deprivation?

Sil

we have a release this weekend, so we implement overnight so as not to impact customers….so that’s my weekend basically lol

Today I get to be a couch potato, watching baseball, drinking tea, & eating good food.
Tomorrow it’s 2 Mother’s day gigs, a brunch, followed by an afternoon tea, back to back.
Livin’ the dream!

It’s roasty!

Also, green. And the swirls of cocoa and caramel are present without being obvious. They’re sitting in the back, chatting about the rooibos.

This is very good! I’ve been happy with all the Kally Tea samples I’ve tried. Thank you Sil!

CHAroma

I love this tea’s name!

1.5 tablespoons of dry leaf for 375ml of water.

Detecting sencha flavour on the sip. Seaweed-y saltiness is present and slightly overpowering. Slight cocoa flavour and sweetness in the background. Very unique flavour combination.

As the tea cools, there is a creaminess to the taste and mouth-feel.

Thank you to Indigobloom for passing on some of this to me!

Caramel is the primary flavor here and it’s pretty awesome! Sweet, sugary, creamy, YUM!
The toasted rice is a nice addition. I like the pairing with the green tea and rooibos. The cocoa is a bit mellower than some of these other tastes but still present and accounted for. I tried a 2nd infusion and could pick up on the marigold flowers and less with the cocoa. Overall I really like this and it’s a marvelous offering! I’m eager to try others from Kally! I have to point out I really LOVE their website, too! Great design!

momo

Ooh I like their site too, and they have some interesting stuff!

Backlog:

This is a tea that I thought I’d prefer hot (I generally prefer caramel-y and/or chocolate-y teas hot) but it’s one of those rare tea moments where I like it better cool. It’s a really tasty iced tea.

The chill seems to bring out the chocolate notes more, and you know me when it comes to chocolate (more = better), so anything that I can do to bring out the chocolate notes of a tea … that’s gonna make it better for me.

I didn’t get a lot of green tea flavor here, though, and that’s one of my issues with it. I also taste the rooibos, and that’s my second issue with this tea. I certainly do taste the green tea, but I am wanting more, while wanting less rooibos flavor. I can taste the toasty rice though, and I like the way the warm, sweet yet savory notes of the roasted rice tastes with the chocolate notes.

Overall, though, this was enjoyable.
