From Den's Tea

Houji-Genmaicha consists of the two harmonious yet slightly contrasting taste components. It is a good alternative to sweetened coffee.

Origin: Shizuoka
Harvest: Between 2009 First and Second Harvests
Species: Yabukita

Tasting Profile:
It offers a comfortable toasty aroma both from roasted leaf and brown rice. The Genmai (roasted brown rice) sweetens the roasted Bancha leaves.

Den’s Preferred Brewing:
Water: 4oz boiled
Leaves: 2 grams or 1 rounded teaspoon
Steep: 30 sec
2nd Cup: Water boiled; Steep 15 sec

For a cup of Iced Tea: Put 50% more tea leaves into a teapot. Steep as directed for hot tea. Once you brew it, put ice into the cup to lock in the aroma.

hrm. i have way too much of this. sipping away some more of it, just to get my green on for the day. i guess i’m looking at that rating i’ve given it before, and it’s better than that. well, this time it is, but i oversteeped the heck out of it just to see what would happen, and i think i like it a lot better this way. still do not love. sad.
