This was a bit of a letdown. I usually love every Della Terra tea I try. This one was okay, but nowhere near as good as the Candy Cane tea from last year. Very similar in flavor, but less minty. The popcorn did nothing for the tea except make it look interesting. I was hoping for a genmaicha sort of toasty-ness to the tea, but really it’s just a milder version of Candy Cane. Sadly, this will not be a “Christmas Tradition” in my house.

I was thinking about what sort of amazing flavor Della Terra could come up with next. If they took the marshmallow caramel dreaminess of Eight Candles and blended that in with a good genmaicha, it would be the most heavenly caramel popcorn flavor ever! Just a thought :)

Caramel popcorn tea! Definitely.

Red Leaf Tea has a Caramel Popcorn Matcha that I’ve heard is spectacular.

I bought a one oz of this a few days ago and it came today. I also got abit of free apples and molasses to try. I had a cup of this earlier today and added some sugar.

The sprinkles and popcorn are cute and christmasy here. Dry this smelled mostly like cream. Steeped this smelled like cream and vanilla. This tastes like cream and vanilla with a hint of peppermint and black tea. And to me me it was a medium strength taste. I thought was pretty good but with hoping for more of a stronger mint taste. And the silver sprinkles made the cup shimmery and was neat.

Popcorn, shiny balls, itty bitty candy canes, teeny mint trees – this tea is nutso. It’s just a nice minty tea really. I feel like I made this one too weak though.

Happy Friday! I just got a free Fairytale Sprite brownie from the office kitchen. What is this thing??

I was asking about Ost’s DT Peppermint Bark which is why I imagine she sent some of this one. I wanted to try this one too, so thanks so much Ost. :D This one is such a cute blend with plenty of candy cane sprinkles, silver sprinkles, hints of popcorn and ample mint. So it’s like a vanilla mint tea…. and I love those. Plenty of flavor, mint, vanilla, deliciousness. So good! Scrumptious not just for Christmas, but I might save my last couple of teaspoons for around that time of year. :D

Overboard TTB #13

I unintentionally ended up sampling two glittery holiday teas from Della Terra today! Of the two, I think I prefer Eight Candles. Don’t get me wrong…this one is good! The vanilla and mint are nicely balanced, yielding a smooth, soothing cup. And I’m glad they did something different from the orange spice blends that most companies seem to do for Christmas. But in the end, this is pretty much just another vanilla mint tea (with the unexpected addition of gold glitter)…good, but nothing super special.

So school went back last week and I’m being totally avoidant! I have two classes left until I graduate and with working full time and also trying to study whenever I have a spare second I’m seriously starting to get burnt out… I’m at a point where I just want to toss it all in and do nothing but read books, drink tea and go to yoga… Oh, I wish I was a lady who lunched… Until I realize I’d be bored out of my brain in a couple of months…. Maybe :)

I’ve been enjoying this tea as a nice escape recently… In fact, I’ve drunk through most of my 2 oz bag in the last two weeks!! It’s the perfect creamy vanilla mint tea and I’m pretty sure this Christmas I’ll be buying tonnes of this and skipping the David’s Tea Santa’s Secret!

This was a sipdown so I guess I’ll miss you till the end of the year Christmas Tradition

Perfect Christmas morning tea. Minty vanilla cream meets smooth black tea with a hint of malt. Now I’m trying to decide which tea to make an eggnog latte with this afternoon or if I should just dive in with a spiced rum-nog. I hope everyone is having a lovely holiday season!

Just received a bag of this from Della Terra, chosen mostly because it was on sale and it sounded interesting. The peppermint is not as strong as I feared, and it’s actually a bit weak for my taste, possibly due to the mellowing effect of the vanilla. Pleasant and not overpowering, with the good black tea base I’ve come to expect from this tea blender.

This might actually be the BEST peppermint tea I’ve ever had. I honestly thought that Davids’ Santa’s Secret would be the best, but when I was buying from DTT the other week, this one caught my eye. And while I’m not a huge peppermint tea fan, I still get in the mood for it sometimes-so I had to try!
First off, This tea is freakin’ adorable! No joke. I love the little golden balls, Candy cane sprinkles, and bits of popcorn spread out between the tea. DTT wins the prize for cutest blends. DT wins second!
Second, the dry leaf is insanely powerful. I’ve never had a peppermint tea that smelled THIS strong! ((My coworker has been wanting a strong peppermint tea…she will LOVE this one!))
Third, the tea itself tastes very strongly of peppermint, just as it smells. But it’s not only peppermint that I taste. It also has deep vanilla notes that make it a much richer flavor.
This is a peppermint tea that I can go for. Won’t drink it all the time, but I am in the mood for a mintier tea when It’s colder out. So this one will hit the spot!
I have been very pleasantly surprised this evening!
Rather happy with this one! :D

Have you tried Read my Lips by Davids Tea? It’s also a very tasty chocolate peppermint tea :)
