Coconut Ice

I’m not sure I gave this much of a chance. I normally would have sweetened it after trying it unsweetened first, but it tasted so bad that I just abandoned the cup. I cold brewed this one overnight (probably about 24 hours actually) after reading some reviews that said this was good cold. The liquid was very light but did have an aroma so I tasted it first before adding some sweetener. It tasted like SOAP, just as if I’d stuck a bar right into my mouth. It was awful. I took it to my husband for him to try, to see if maybe I was overreacting. He actually enjoyed it! Not only did he like it, he also picked up on the coconut flavor. I couldn’t believe it. I told him he could have the rest, because I’m not touching it again.

Every time I make this tea it just tastes soapy and gross. I added a bit of Monk’s Blend from Granville Tea Company in the hopes it might smooth out the coconut taste, but with no avail. I added milk to make it drinkable. I love coconut but this tea is just unpleasant most of the time.

I’ve tried this tea both iced (last summer) and now brewed up hot tonight. It has a nice creaminess to it. Lots and lots of coconut pieces in the mix. I don’t really taste any cocoa flavour in it. There’s an interesting tropical and pineapple taste to it even though no fruit accents are listed in the ingredients. I preferred it iced more but it’s also quite pleasant hot.

Smells like roasted coconut, tastes like soap. Have to add honey to offset the initial soapy flavor.

I love coconut but I did not like this tea. My significant other also tried this tea and she did not like it. We both found that it tasted like soap. I’m not sure what ingredient in this makes it taste like soap but it was literally undrinkable.

I was really excited to try this tea because I just love coconuts but I was disappointed with it. It was actually quite gross iced. I couldn’t finish this at all and tossed the rest. Thank God I only bought 10 g to try it.

gotta say, not what I was expecting. This tea is very bland (I always try them black before I try them with anything added). The dry tea has an okay smell, once it’s steeped it smells stale and the taste isn’t much better. there is a slight minty-ness after taking a sip but that’s pretty well it, no real flavor. I did order it while it was in the “fond fairwells” catagory on the site and when I went to look up something today I found that it has vanished from the site all together.

Yuck yuck yuck… tasted almost like alcohol. I had such high expectations for this tea. I tried a few sips, & tossed the rest. It was that nasty.

I really wanted to like this tea. I love coconut and it smells so good! I picked this up during the Davids Tea boxing sale. Unfortunately this tea is very very very sweet. It just taste like artificial coconut sugar. I’ve tried with milk and at different temperatures but this may just not be for me.

Finishing off the last of my sample. I kind of wish this was a Ceylon, so I infused some Upton Tea Co Bogawantalawa Estate Ceylon FBOP in it for a bit of a kick.
