From DAVIDsTEA

Ireland is one of the biggest tea drinking countries around. And trust us, they know their stuff. Traditionally, they go for strong black tea, often simmered on the stove all day long. And this rich, full bodied black tea is no exception. A blend of teas from Assam and Sri Lanka, it brews up nutty, fruity and bold, with hints of wild dark honey – and a robust taste that can stand up to a bit of milk and sugar. If there’s a better way to start the day, we don’t wanna know about it.

Free tea for me! Thank you Davids tea :)
Just for wearing green? you can dress me anytime…

anyhow, this is interesting. A little bland but still a good tea.
Breakfast blends have never been my thing. They somehow manage to reduce the complexity of a straight tea! Never figured that one out.
Who knows. Bah. Still, this was nice and malty but in a bready way that was devoid of astringency. Like a flatbread.
Unfortunately, it was somewhat of a deadened note, so nothing beyond that to report! Definitely requires milk and a bit of sugar

Strength without astringency. Sounds like the motto of some tea-related empire. However, it is the perfect descriptor for this cup of black tea! Thanks to DavidsTea’s “free cup of hot or iced tea for wearing green and visiting on St. Patrick’s Day” offer, I was able to try this.
Thanks, DavidsTea!

I do love me a good, solid, straight black tea, and I am happy to say that I quite enjoy this one! Definitely a bold taste – I can certainly taste the Assam influence (which is a good thing), and it takes milk well. Only thing missing is I’d love to see an organic Irish Breakfast somewhere, but I’ll happily take this for this time being. Love that David’s isn’t entirely all about the flavoured stuff these days!
