Steeped this one iced last week because I was just craving it. Like I talked about briefly in another tasting note not too long back, I’ve been leaning a little more towards simple and straight forward blends and this was right in that sweet spot. It’s flavourful and fruity but not bright, tart, and juicy in the same way that so many of the other fruit based teas I’ve had as of late have been. Definitely leans much more heavily into the more mineral and even borderline medicinal tastes of the rooibos with a thick orange and cranberry flavour. Relatively unsweet. I am not a person who usually finds rooibos medicinal, so it does worry me a little that if I noted the medicinal quality people who are sensitive to rooibos might find this undrinkable – but overall I dug it. A little medicinal orange flavour is not gonna scare me off…

There is a bit of a sweetness here that I’m not loving, that seems to cover up some of the more delightful flavours. I’m assuming the sweetness is from the mulberry leaves. There’s definitely cranberry and hints of orange underneath the sweetness. I’d prefer the cranberry and orange at the forefront instead!
