Lexa got me teas for Christmas! Woot! They all smell amazing, but we opted for this one while watching Star Wars last night! The dry tea smells like a lemon pastry with lavender sprinkled on top! It actually smells like what I recall of Della Terra’s Lemon Chiffon.

Wow! This tastes just like how it smells. I love when that happens! I’ll have to order this one to build up the delicious rooibos teas in my cupboard for both Lex and I!

I love this blend!

Courtney

Me too! I sometimes shy away from lemon, even though I love lemon in baking. I’m glad this one came through as lemony pastry!

Martin Advent Day 12
I had a sip without milk and quickly knew I’d enjoy it more as a latte. It was a little sour plain, but with milk it’s rich and tasty. The lavender is so strong, both in scent and taste. I love lavender! The rooibos is a great base for this blend. It’s such a nice floral latte – I’m so glad I got to try this! It’s been on my wishlist for a while, and now I have to decide whether to buy some more.

Martin Bednář

This blend reminds me lavender lemonade I used to drink when I was at the University. I haven’t got it in half a year already and somehow I miss it. Unfortunately, you get the last amount I had, so I should place an order with this included!

This one reminds me of the now defunct Della Terra’s Lemon Chiffon, especially the aroma of the steeped cup and the finish. There’s a hint of floral cream (lavender) and some citrus zest, sweetened with apple. There’s also something that pops a bit (like a mostly but not quite flat fizzy soda). The (floral) tobacco-sweet rooibos base is pretty prevalent too. All in all, it’s a pleasant way to wrap things up for the evening.

Rating: 85 I’d pick up more of this in a 25-50g capacity when I’m running low on other favoured B&B teas. I also like this better than most rooibos blends.

I almost had this one for my evening cup. Kinda wish now I had

lavender blends are good sleepy teas, but if it’s hot where you are a fruit herbal sounds like it would be more refreshing!

Smells like a perfect lavender lemonade. There’s no tartness from the lemon in the flavor, though. It’s a very strong Provencal lavender that overpowers everything else. Though, that’s not a bad thing for me. I can’t taste the rooibos, which is also a win. I also added a bit of foamed oat milk, and it was excellent.

I really enjoy this tea :)

It is nicely lavender / lemony / rooibos blend. Mellow in all aspects, but flavours are well executed.

I said everything about this tea in previous notes.

Why I feel writing about this (or any another) today is a must for me? It isn’t!

I always feel weird not writing about tea when I drink it, hah. And I think it’s perfectly natural to want to write a note for a tea that makes you happy, whether you’ve written about it lots before or not! :)

Martin Bednář

I usually write down notes while drinking; but not this time and moreover… I felt I wrote everything :P

Courtney

I have written about a couple teas many times! Bailin Gonfu and Yuchi Wild Mountain for sure!

Mastress Alita

I tend to only write one note per each tea I drink (usually the first time I try it, but if I’m busy and have a large amount to get through, I may put it off until a different cup). I just don’t have the time in my life (nor care, honestly) to log every cup of tea I drink. Sometimes after years I might review a tea again, just because I figure my palate may be different after all that time, or I may if my experience has change… basically, if I feel I have something different to say than the first time. (As a side note, I was thinking about this tea the other night, and think I’m going to move it over to my “Sipdown Corner” very shortly… I really like it, too!)

Martin Bednář

I am not naturally writing about a new note with a new cup, but somehow how I change my teas, I think it never goes boring what I am drinking in the moment (or at least the day).

It would be fun, if we were drinking same tea Mastress Alita, sometimes it happens, hihi.

Bird & Blend Tea Advent calendar Day 2:

Nice. I’m a fan of caffeine free teas for evening. I’m not a fan of floral teas. The lavender is quite strong. But the lemon in this one adds a bright note. Not one I’d order, but I’m super glad to get to try it. That is one of the great things about these advent calendars. You get to try 25 different teas, many of which I would never have purchased. Some I will probably not like, others I will love, and I bet there will be a few that I wouldn’t never have tried, but absolutely adore.

So if you enjoy relaxing floral teas with a bright zing of lemon, I think you would really like this one.

YES. This tea is everything I hoped it would be. Sweet, creamy lavender and an amazing pop of lemon. Absolutely delicious. Just nix the rooibos and it would be my perfect lavender tea (whyyyy do the best lavender teas have rooibos bases?!). Fortunately, the base isn’t too bothersome, but a nice black/white blend would suit it much better.

Really happy I picked this up; would be a definite repurchase from me if I order again and it’s around.

tea-sipper

I think the rooibos B&B uses is really good… the rooibos could be worse, so I generally like their blends. I like their rooibos better than their older Ceylon! I think they use a better base now though. I think this is one of the previous vote winners so it’s a permanent tea!

Kittenna

Yeah, it seems to be better than what some companies use! I’m not too familiar with their other base teas, though I’m admittedly not fond of whatever Lady Lavender has as the base (it is strong and harsh). Very glad to hear this is a previous vote winner! And no wonder; it’s so good.

Sweet 16th day of Sara’s advent calendar.

Moondrop Dreams!

The leaf smells amazeballs. Steeped it smells… kind of like honey with a hint of spice.

The first sip was like some kind of spice journey without a map. There are a lot of spices in there, well balanced, having a party. There’s a note of honey at the end of the sip.

I had to cheat and look at the ingredients while sipping to pick out the orange zest and lavender flavors, and I still couldn’t pick out others. But I’m really happy to join the spice party. I am considering buying some of this.

I’m surprised you got no lemon from this, it should be the main note aside from the lavender (it’s a lemon/lavender blend). I’ve had a different lemon/lavender blend and did notice the lemon wasn’t as strong in this one on the rooibos base as the other (the other isn’t vegan so…) but I could taste it. I always find the lavender is never very strong in these… I always add just a little bit more from my stash, heh.

Todd

Yeah, that is odd. But there were a lot of flavors to pick out, and I did really enjoy it.

Kicking back and trying to unwind after a rough day of learning curve fail. My new 3D printer has it out for me. Fortunately this tea does not! Not a huge rooibos fan, but this blend has enough flavors that the rooibos takes only a supporting roll. I get lavender at the front of the sip, then it quickly turns to lemon chiffon, a rooibos blend I’m familiar with. Did they just add some lavender to lemon chiffon? Maybe I’ll have to try that with the LC I have! Ha! Just what I need in my life… more learning curves!

Additional notes: Sipped this one down.  Really it was missing the AMAZING bright lemon it originally had… and mostly reminded me of an Earl grey with lavender in the end…  So if the sample faded, I’m not sure how quick I would be to restock.  Maybe if it were ever on SALE….
2020 Sipdowns: 59

SO B&B’s sale started last night.  As usual, I get like a kid on Christmas morning and can’t wait to see the deals and in the bright eyed haze, completely forget that their website is a pain during the sale every single time.  This time the pain started minute one of the hour long pre-presale link.  It took 55 minutes to check out, RIGHT before the hour pre-presale was almost done. This morning at 10am, most everything in the sale is gone except for the 10-20% off items or things that aren’t actually tea like the little teapots.  I managed to grab a handful of things last night.  Possibly they will keep adding things to the site again, as the sale is supposed to last a few days.  They had some cheap teas that were retiring, I bought Lime Cola which I loved, and Beet It which was great as a fruit tea when I tried the sample before.  Also: Rainbow Chai, Fruit Pie Chai, The Night Before Christmas, and Yule Log.  I was really hoping to at least see Figgy Pud and Salted Caramel Lebkuchen, but they didn’t.   It was mainly Christmas teas from 2019… so they didn’t really bring too many OLDER teas back. I really wish B&B would learn supply and demand already!  And why only have the sale on the limited teas?   I would love sales on their tea wall.  But I’m a B&B addict and can’t help supporting them a LITTLE bit, at least during the sales (if the darn checkout lets me anyway).  I still have a buyban on, but I didn’t really get myself anything for my long ago Bday this year… I’ll just have to aim for six sipdowns this week. And I’ve really been enjoying revisiting some B&B teas lately!

AJRimmer

Yeah I woke up at 2 AM for the sale, but went back to bed after 35 minutes of trouble. Got up normally at 8, and was able to make my order with no problems. There wasn’t really anything I was pumped about either, so it was a very small order.

tea-sipper

Yeah, and the FREE SHIPPING doesn’t hurt. :D Or B&B should just have sales all the time.

amandastory516

I woke up at 1am to try to place an order, tried for 80 minutes, and the 1 item I really wanted sold out. I was so disappointed.

tea-sipper

sorry Amanda. What was the one item you really wanted?

amandastory516

That’s okay! I really didn’t need anything, but frustrating nonetheless. I was trying for the sticky chai trio.

tea-sipper

Yeah, I ALMOST bought the sticky chai trio but didn’t. I would have split some with you, if I did! Sometimes they restock things. I will let you know if I see it again.

amandastory516

Appreciate that, thank you!

Martin Bednář

Yeah, I didn’t pull the trigger, luckily for my wallet, unlucky for tea-lover.
But I still have plenty to drink (and I have ordered some from Canada with free shipping too)
