It’s almost 10pm and I’m still drinking black tea and running back and forth to the washroom. But I couldn’t resist a cup of this. I have so much tea everywhere now that I need to keep up!

Creamy nougat tea. Good stuff!

I’m running low with mine, as I have given a lot of samples away, and had a few mugs of this. It’s good. I like it.

Fjellrev 11 years ago

I think she said this is her best seller and I can see why.

Plunkybug 11 years ago

Yes, she said that to us too.

Plunkybug 11 years ago

I think there is also a green version of this too.

Did I wrap those well enough for you? :)
ALL THE LAYERS!!!

Sil 12 years ago

Yep. I lost a little of one of the teas omg sent me though because I expected a bag in the tin foil lol. Haha

OMGsrsly 12 years ago

I’m bad about that one. I made bags out of the tin foil..

Sil 12 years ago

lol it’s ok. I just wasn’t expecting it. I did catch most of the team on my lap though..so that’s good :)

OMGsrsly 12 years ago

I finally managed to get little plastic baggies! So next time it will be safer.

Kittenna 12 years ago

Ooh, glad I read this, otherwise I might have lost some Lemon Basil Oolong! Also, the teas are wrapped awesomely, Cavo :D

Thank you CrowKettle for the bag of this! It’s going next to my Butiki teas!
I don’t really taste much of the base but I love the smell of this, and the hazelnut is really good.

I’m happy to have more!

It is sooo good. I have a little left…kinda scared to finish it off, cuz then it will be gone, but it is really yummy.

Sil 11 years ago

want them to have an ecommerce site like they were supposed to. I despise their site..

TeaLady441 11 years ago

Yeah. Yeahhhhhh. I keep meaning to email them. I’d rather a real website than sending emails back and forth to arrange an order…. Of course I might do it.

TeaLady441 11 years ago

Ok, I finally sent an email. :P

Plunkybug 11 years ago

Their site is pretty sucky, agreed.

Sil 11 years ago

they were supposed to revamp the site back in like.. october. that’s what the woman said. but yeah..no change.

TeaLady441 11 years ago

Well, if they reply to my email, I’ll let you guys know!

I sure forced your hand! I love enabling tea-aholics. :). Can’t wait to try this!

Fjellrev 10 years ago

Gah, I keep stalling on making a Bayswater order! Must. sip. down. more.

OMGsrsly 10 years ago

Omg I went to the store and only bought ONE MORE TEA to share with SIL. tea for you, tea for a birthday girl, tea for my host this coming week!!

I’m heading to Van this weekend, and while it’s supposed to be only to see Fringe shows, I am trying to find a way to get to Bayswater, which is not too far from where we will be. I still have this, but I have been sending it off as samples to people, so I am running low now, and this is the time of year I want more of that warm comforting hug of yumminess. I am so glad you took us there on that meet up.:)

OMGsrsly 10 years ago

Hope the weather turns out nice for you!

Plunkybug 10 years ago

It rained, and I got food poisoning, so we left after the 2:45 show (we’d have gone home sooner, but we had paid tickets for this show). So I never got there. I felt so awful all of Saturday. :(

OMGsrsly 10 years ago

Oh no. :(

Plunkybug 10 years ago

Yeah, it was a real bummer. I woke up at 3:45am and was sick all day, and then some. :( I had hoped to have time to sneak off to Bayswater since it wasn’t that far from Granville Island, but no. But, all better now. :)

OH MY GOODNESS. This tea is an absolutely delicious treat! Sweet, nutty, nougatty (uh, is that a word?) … wow. There’s just a hint of amaretto/almond flavour here, but it’s very subtle and therefore quite bearable. … Who am I kidding, this tea is far more than bearable – it’s absolutely freaking delicious. I think I may need to acquire more. And by that, I mean I absolutely must have more once I finish my sample from the very generous Cavocorax.

If you like nougat, and sweet teas….. I highly suggest you try to get your hands on some of this. The name is quite fitting.

Kaylee 12 years ago

how are you drinking these teas so fast?

Kittenna 12 years ago

I brew up a few (4, often) at a time, and write notes as I try out each. I still have partial cups of all of them sitting here, but I’ll drink them in short order :) I just brewed another 3 + re-steeps of others, haha. I drink a lot of tea sometimes!

Kaylee 12 years ago

Interesting technique – I’ll have to give that a try! I only ever have one cup at a time. Your way seems like it would be much more effective for decreasing one’s tea count.

Kittenna 12 years ago

Well, it works for me because I actually prefer my tea to be warm, not hot, so if they cool down, I really don’t care. It’s much more efficient to brew up multiple teas at a time, IMO (especially since my kettle is cheap and doesn’t have a “keep warm” option). I also don’t usually brew up huge mugs of anything, only about 8 oz. cups of each tea, unless I’m trying to sipdown something with a bit too much for 8 oz., or if I’m really craving a tea.

Sil 12 years ago

Lol I always have two teas on the the go..
Glad you liked this one Kittenna….the owner of bayswater is getting her website fixed up so hopefully everything will be in order sometime in October a that we have an accurate site to order from. If/when want to. :)

OMGsrsly 12 years ago

Fingers crossed she gets it done! Otherwise, you can phone/email and she’ll ship out.

Omg, this is Sweet. I ate one of the nougats from the dry blend and the tea tastes just like it. Along with hazelnut creamer. And a little salt. I added milk and the creamer got creamier. This is almost too rich, guys. I feel like my mouth is coated with butter, sugar, and nutella.

I’m putting this one under potential late fall and winter blends.

TeaLady441 12 years ago

Oooh, maybe I should have bought 100g? I think Kittena is taking 25g, and Sil will probably want a sample too…

But then we can always get more…

Crowkettle 12 years ago

My one complaint is the tea component doesn’t factor in too much; the nougat nutella thing completely swamps it. It reminds me of flavoured hot chocolate a little.

Sil 12 years ago

Oh man….. On the plus side cavo, when you’re hear this gives us things to intentionally swap with the folks out west for :)

Sil 12 years ago

Wow I said hear not here….I am tired

OMGsrsly 12 years ago

Oh, that’ll be good as a dessert tea. And I bet it will be delicious made into popsicles, too. I might consider adding some Irish Breakfast to up the TEA factor though.. :)

Crowkettle 12 years ago

Mixing this with Irish Breakfast sounds like a fantastic idea. Or a chocolatey black base. Then it might taste like a ferrero rocher.

Snow day! Our students have been given a reprieve because there was an exam today but the university closed due to quite a bit of snow (for southeast Ohio).

Thanks to OMGsrsly for this tea. Nougat and hazelnut sound awesome, and it certainly smells awesome. Sweet, nougaty, marshmallowy, and of course a bit nutty. The flavor is great. It’s funny because just a few days ago I had Eight Candles from Della Terra, which had marshmallows in it and was sweet but not that interesting. This tea has nougat bits in it, which theoretically act in the same way as the dried marshmallows, but the blend is just so much more successful to me.

This tea is really what a dessert tea should be for me: it tastes like a rich, nutty nougat but it’s not actually sweet on the tongue. How does that work? I don’t know, but it does. Plus the base is so much nicer on this one. I mean, it’s not a fine black tea or anything, but it has a presence, and lends body to the blend. There is a hint of bitterness that comes out as it gets cold, but that’s only at the very end and otherwise while warm this is delightful. Thanks for sharing OMGsrsly, this was really nice (and I have enough left to do a Divine Temptation/Creme Brulee mixture as well)!

Just got the most lovely package in the mail from Plunkybug. Everything smelled so wonderful, it was really hard to pick which to try first.
I decided to go with this one, and it’s heavenly…
Nothing artificial or weird, just lovely and grahamy, and cookie like, and nougaty, and a little break of fabulous in my mug.
But it’s not overly sweet at all…just perfectly balanced.
I feel so lucky to have gotten the chance to try this. Thanks so much Plunkybug!!

hey, i was just thinking abt you last night :)

DeliriumsFrogs 10 years ago

I’ve been thinking about you! Do you know, I’m still using the perfume samples you sent me. ;)

DeliriumsFrogs 10 years ago

(haven’t been on steepster much at all; trying to avoid the want to buy more tea… you know, that want that turns into a need, and then your bank account is drained? lol)

Dexter 10 years ago

What teas do you NEED DeliriumsFrog? Can I help?

boychik 10 years ago

tell me abt it. IG is even worse. Feeding my teaware addiction

Plunkybug 10 years ago

So glad you like it. As I said in the FB post, try it with the Creme Brûlée too. I gave you enough of each to try individually, and to try blended. Also, I realized I forgot to double bag…oops. Hope it ended up ok still.

DeliriumsFrogs 10 years ago

OH, Dexter, you’re so wonderful! But really, I don’t NEED anything. And, you sent me SO MUCH before! :D
(I need to make myself come on here more often, I miss chatting in these little comment sections. haha)

DeliriumsFrogs 10 years ago

Plunkybug, don’t worry about it! Everything was packaged great! And, I’m definitely going to try them blended… yay!

DeliriumsFrogs 10 years ago

boychik, I can definitely see IG having the same effect on me. TEAWARE! There’s nothing better….

Received a sample of this from OMGSRSLY, was super pumped because it’s been on my wishlist for awhile!

Made some just now, packaging some tea up while the baby naps.

It’s really as good as all the reviews state! Dessert in a cup but doesn’t have any weird fake flavour notes that I notice. I would definitely buy some sometime if the opportunity ever came up.

Thanks for sharing, OMGSRSLY!!

Oh man, I wish we could (easily) order from these guys bc I would be DOWN.

Sil 10 years ago

I’ll be there in April i think again…

Fjellrev 10 years ago

I just emailed her last week asking about shipping to AB and she said that 750g or so costs like $11, so maybe to Ontario it would be more like $16? Still seems like it’ll be such a huge hassle to order.

ohfancythat 10 years ago

And to NB – $20? Boooooo

Fjellrev 10 years ago

Yeah, if it’s already that much to AB, I feel really sorry for the East Coasters. She doesn’t do shipping deals either. :(

OMGsrsly 10 years ago

LOL. Just get me to buy it and walk it over to the post office. Sil just sent me a massive box for $15, and I swear it was 2kg or so.

Sil 10 years ago

LOL it wasn’t 2k…was it!?

OMGsrsly 10 years ago

That was HEAVY! My scale won’t weigh that much. :P

Sil 10 years ago

it wasn’t as heavy as one of the boxes…
