Nirvana

I did a cold brew of the rest of this one. It was INTENSE and I thought maybe too intense, but surprisingly I drank the entire thing. Very fruity, but somehow not overwhelming. It could probably be diluted even more and still be super flavorful. Definitely tasty.

OMG! The added fruit bits are HUGE and this smell awesome! There is a LARGE Berry in my strainer…should I eat it!? LOL

This is a nice Sencha but the fruit really adds to everything and I’m so thankful for NO Hibiscus in this loose leaf mix! YUM! A nice fruity green! YUM!

Quality leaf with huge pieces of fruit. Nicely balanced and I am a sucker for the fig backdrop. Unique, tasty and I just love fig tea!

Based on the description and the other tasting notes on this tea, I expected it to be exceptional. It is not. It’s alright, but nothing I need to run out and buy again which is good since I don’t really care for this company anyway.

This is exceptional. The balance of fruit is perfect!

I’m not much for flavored green teas, but this one is done right. Fruity and clean.

Fruity but in a true-fruit, refreshing, non-cloying way. Also, visually stunning in terms of the fruit pieces, and the tea leaves aren’t bad either. I dig.

Bet this would be really good cold steeped provided you timed it right, yum.

I made this in my 3-4 cup tea pitcher and it sat on my desk all day. YUM! It was a great tea to have by my side at work tasted great hot, warm, and room temperature. Fruit and green tea is nicely balanced.

An Ode to Tea challenge – N

  From a looonnng ago teabox! Sipdown next time. I think I’ve had this blend from another tea shop before.  I can’t remember which.  A bit of searching and it’s Tealyra/Tealux’s ‘Sencha Berry Fig’. It looks like Dethlefsen & Balk sells it, but I don’t think I have had any of their teas before (directly under their name anyway). I do love the idea of the fig with the kiwi?  It doesn’t seem like it would work but this blend does.  However, this sample didn’t have any of those big luscious fruit pieces like the photo indicates should be here. Also rose and berries – none!  The blend looks like plain sencha.  Plenty flavor though.  But maybe that just proves some tea relies more on added flavoring than actual fruit flavor.   Funnily enough, first steep was mostly fig, second steep mostly kiwi, all on a buttery lovely sencha base.  I wouldn’t mind having this stocked up, especially if the big fruit pieces are actually present in more than just a sample (but this was an official sample from American Tea Room that hadn’t been opened yet, so it really should have been more than just sencha.)  It’s a decent  fruit tea and the flavor lasts for years anyway. The Tealux blend got a 94. This now will get 89.

This is a slightly fruity green tea. This is really nice. I did not make this bitter yay! A little creamy, a little vegital. A pretty good afternoon cup.
