A blend of Assam tea (with just a little bit of Lapsang Souchong for that roasted flavor) & traditional chai spices (cinnamon, cardamom, clove, ginger & black pepper) plus vanilla bean & marshmallow root. It evokes memories of roasting marshmallows over a campfire, catching it on fire so the outside gets really roasted (read: burnt). The lovely flavor of the charred exterior with the molten interior was one of my favorite childhood treats. This tea tastes like someone dropped one of those yummy charred marshmallows into a warm, cozy chai! YUM!

This black tea is quite hearty. I also taste a smooth vanilla flavor. The chai spices are nice as well. Hot, it tasted almost bitter, but once it cooled, I could really appreciate the balance of the flavors. The chai spices and creaminess really go well together with some sugar and milk. My final cup of this leaned more heavily to the lapsang flavor profile, which I hadn’t noticed in previous cups. The fun thing about a chai is that every cup can taste a little different!

A peppery, clove-y, gingery chai. I wish I were getting more marshmallow! I love that there’s a smidge of Lapsang to evoke a roasty toasty marshmallow element, but unfortunately I’m not picking up on it. Still tasty, though!
