This was a very exciting blend to see in the advent calendar (and I’m only just getting around to trying it months later – lots of time for anticipation). I taste a bit of soda essence, though it’s milder than in the crisp cranberry blend. I also taste the deep fruitiness of the pomegranate. I taste mainly green rooibos, which is my favorite herbal base. I actually enjoyed my second/final serving of this more since it seemed a lot more soda-like, and the fruitiness was lighter. I’d totally drink this again, though I’d still pick the cranberry version first.

This is actually our 4th Tea of Christmas but I held off brewing this on that day & instead, saved the tea to cold brew.

This is FANTASTIC cold brewed. I enjoyed it served hot as well, but it’s a completely different tea when cold-brewed! It tastes like a pomegranate lemon-lime soda!

12 Teas of Christmas: Day 4

This smells amazing, especially dry — so crisp and effervescent! Brewed up, I’m getting heavy notes of citrus and lime and not so much pomegranate. It’s really refreshing, though, and I bet it’d be amazing cold-brewed.

4th Tea of Christmas 2022

Somehow effervescent and refreshing despite being a hot beverage. Like Roswell Strange, I’m also picking up lemony and sprite-like flavours. Not getting too much pomegranate, beyond a red berry note, either.

I have a cold steep batch overnighting in the fridge; looking forward to trying this tea cold too! It’s tasty, even if I’d prefer a bit more pomegranate.

Adventaggedon Day Seventeen – 4/5

I love 52Teas’ Crisp Cranberry Soda so I was thrilled to see a twist on that profile included today! Cracking the bag open, it also smelled so good. Steeped up I thought it was just a great level of sweetness but also still kind of delicate and refreshing. I think I expected a bit more pomegranate than what I got, and the lemon-y citrus notes that contribute to the Sprite-like soda effect of the blend were stronger than how they usually taste to me in Crisp Cranberry Soda.

Even though the ratio of flavours was flipped from what I’d anticipated, it was a very good tea and I think the next time I drink it I’ll enjoy it even more now that I have set baseline expectations for the flavour. The Crisp Cranberry Soda rules supreme though, sorry to say.
