17 Tasting Notes
It is all right, but smells better than it tastes. In store it was excellent, but unlike other Teavana teas, at home it just does not do as well. It is nice and sweet, very seasonal, but not strong enough. I do not recommend.
Flavors: Fruity, Sweet
This tea is definitely for dessert. I have had it with and without milk, and it tastes wonderfully sweet. It is almost too strongly sweet, but the spices mellow this some. The scent is an amazingly strong caramel, but the taste is comparatively light. Color is coppery, and I always have dregs in the bottom no matter my infuser type. I do recommend if you are looking for a snack, not an accompaniment to a meal.
Flavors: Anise, Caramel, Chocolate, Nutty, Salt, Spices
Preparation
This is one of the best teas I have ever tasted! It is the lightest, sweetest, and most refreshing green tea I have yet to taste. There is no bitterness or smokiness, just a pleasant rich grassy quality and appealing dark color. I highly recommend.
Flavors: Grass, Hay, Summer, Sweet, Sweet, Warm Grass
Preparation
This is one of the smoothest pu’erh teas I have ever tasted. It lacks that burnt smokiness many quality pu’erhs have, which fits my personal tastes. The color is dark brownish-gold. I recommend this tea for its depth and woodsy aroma.
Flavors: Bitter, Dry Grass, Nutty, Wood
This tea is very soothing, and tastes creamy even without milk. (It does also mix wonderfully with milk.) Even though Earl Grey means caffeine, the lavender and bergamot make you feel relaxed after drinking. The health benefits of this mix include fighting depression and anxiety, plus it smells amazing.
Flavors: Bergamot, Floral, Lavender, Musty
Preparation
This green tea is very nutty. It tastes roasted without that bitter smokiness you often get from black teas. It was very cooling and calming. It smells chocolatey but does not taste sweet. The color is a light golden green. I would recommend for its richness and smoothness.
Flavors: Nutty, Roasted, Roasted Barley
Preparation
This tea is super sour, and it impossible to sweeten effectively. It also has an overwhelming scent. No matter how mellow I brew it, this tea is not good as a stand-alone drink. It would probably do better as a mix-in for punch.
Flavors: Astringent, Citrus, Lemongrass, Orange, Sour
Preparation
This tea packs a strong punch, and is great for waking up in the mornings. It tastes similar to a mimosa with its bold orange, passionfruit, rose, and hibiscus flavors. Just a warning, it is very sour, and does not take well with sweetener.
Flavors: Floral, Fruit Punch, Hibiscus, Lemongrass, Orange Zest, Passion Fruit, Rosehips, Sour
