Very interesting tea. I could relate it to maybe Taiwanese oolongs but it is really mellow, caramelly and refreshing at the same time. Amazing find from crafty supplier whose descriptions are void off cliches.

So this was really a test package that I knew I could give away easily. It is sitting in the upper drawer of my desk waiting for unsuspecting courier open to conversation about nazi conspiracy so I can shift it further. One day I get caught. I will say it is sliver fox chronicles. Apparently, as a post vax recoveree not only I am able to gulp wine like there is no tomorrow, I can get back into fuzhuans. Which are way cheaper. I am not sure if there is any other positive aspect of that. So I got Romanian brand “marcel” smoked lard. Best thing ever So now, slice of lard at 6am, 2 cups of fu zhuan at midday and then whatever happens on the way home. What could possibly go wrong.

Another surprise from corona supply chain. Ordered same time as few samples from California based purple cloud tea that took a week to get to Ireland. Well, that one has been sitting in customs for last few weeks. Maybe they are calculating the most expensive to apply higher rate which should be zero but I am guessing politicians want to retire earlier. They will fix it later with getting free nuclear submarine from Taiwan or something. I went for the picture. I am guessing dark for roasted. So PayPal never got fixed but maybe there was an option to pay with card thru PayPal but no account. Paypal disabled there text authorizations and to create new account one needs the same. Alternative option was alipay thru transferwise platform. So EMS was courier of choice, USD 15 and voila I got it in 3 weeks with no customs involved. Only guessing due to shipping from shanghai thru hong Kong. What about mongolia, Afghanistan and Dubai. I know, camel wouldn’t have so much fodder to survive the journey. Anyway, it tasted better that I expected. Way smoother and sweeter. A bit acidic only guessing cuz it made me hungry. But missing oiliness from swiss batch. So will I be putting it away for ageing ? I will consider this as well, I like how leaves look on the picture. But link is deceiving, someone just overwrote out of stock line it seems.

Because I remember 803 wild version from chawang back few years ago and then having it recently. It almost tasted over-aged. Maybe I aged. Maybe it is vaccine. Alternative to steaming tea inside preheated iron pot is putting empty frying pan on gas stove, leaving it there for a minute until starts smelling like everything you ever cooked in it, taking it off flame, adding tea leaves until kettle boils. It tastes now like singed sunflower seeds.

I know I’ve been brutal with heicha. And I broke my thermos. So never having patience for kungfu ritual, I settled for iron teapot from tkmaxx. Now this is my first experience with steaming chunks of sheng inside of it. Being a lazy beaver, I fill up empty vessel with boiling water and pour the rest on top of it. I leave it for few minutes, empty and place the victim inside and cover with iron lid. It is a torture. Or maybe sauna for microbiological bacteria. I think they are sending distress signal to comets passing withing few light years away. But the only entity answering call is me getting from nephrite car seat and putting another haden kettle on, this time with silver ionized water. It is a battle lost to fluoride. My teeth don’t know any better. After all, all the fillings are buzzing from 5g soup the whole neighbourhood is steeping in. What a trip.

That was very powerful. I mean, I didn’t expect it, suspected from the look of leaves but there was no smell to confirm it. I think I only had similar effect from really old shengs from specific areas. The was no tracking as came thru swiss post and took few weeks but no customs tricks. I’ve had a sneaky tea. I would describe as narcotic. Not opium poppies but a manufactured like opioid pills. Did this have a narcotic feel?
I would say yes, similar to good hash that normally sends me dreamland but the one I was shared was branded “new York diesel” and that think kept me clear all night. This one is more bone buzzing, kind of antidote to vaccine. GMO hash,,gmo vaccine, gmo banana.
So I am bored. Like really dead bored. But this is what happens when you check if storm is over. I mean, after first jab I immediately had few cans of beer despite medical acumen. I lost it. Hands down the best liubao I ever had. Picked it mainly because it was in
the upper price bracket, just wanted to tick bricks off my list. Very heavy
glutenous rice aroma. Can’t figure out whether branding has to do with it.
I mean the colour and pattern of packaging. Is it all subliminal. Four
digit starting with one, guessing not far away from zero. It is thick. Like
almost oily. If I blended tiajian with ripe, that feel. Maybe it is a brick
thing. Vaguely remember tuochas/ cakes were for greener types and bricks
for riper. There is another one with packaging looking similar but it is
loose. In a bag. Xiaguan, tried loose, tried flat, still bricks were better
rhyme to me. Maybe it is about stalks, like coarser type. Stems are
potentially more alkaline. And it is really loosely pressed. I do recall
some bricks marketed as rice ones. I wonder if that is about steaming with
rice. I know I had hua zhuan version scented with lotus. But my mind went,
this is to cover lower quality of material. Like selling marinated/ BBQ
chicken when unsuitable for fresh marketing. So what’s next ? Is this the
end of the road searching for most flavoursome oolong and passing thru
heichas that make your mind freeze. Like day tranquilizer but better. Like
something you would give to a sniper.

Anytime I had this type of heicha, it brings me back to Malawian satemwa white. I could definitely recommend it to someone who is making brave steps from greens towards shengs.
