37 Tasting Notes
I went on a search for a replacement for my beloved Kalahari… and this is pretty damn close! Doesn’t quite have the lemony kick I was looking for (possibly because it lacks lemon peel) but there’s an inherent smoothness to this tea that I quite like. Likely when I run out of Kalahari, I’ll keep myself stocked up with this one instead.
Preparation
I’m not really big on minty teas. This one’s not bad, but the peppermint sort of lingers on the tongue. Some may like it, I kinda don’t.
This was my final sample pack from Metrotown’s Teaopia. Don’t imagine I’ll snag any more of this, to be honest. But it’s a nice little pick-me-up tea for the morning.
They had this one on sample, iced-style and I found it quite bitter. Got some anyway because it’s really hard to say no to tea at 75% off. I like it. It’s got a lighter cherry flavor than the Amaretto Cherry I tried last night, not quite as bold. Done up my usual milk-and-sugar style, it’s quite nice. Sort of reminds me of a cherry candy, actually.
Unf. This one is good. I bought this one as a little sampler pack for $1 at the Metrotown Teaopia. The smell of cherry is very strong from the moment you open the package, and it’s just as strong brewed as a tea.
Overall the flavor is bold. I’d almost compare it to coffee (which I don’t drink) in that it tastes as strong as it smells. Not sure if I’ll be picking up a little more of this (also not sure if I can since Teaopia is converting to Teavana) but not a bad tea at all.
I purchased a sample of this one from Teaopia in Metrotown for $1. Unfortunately my local Teaopia doesn’t carry these little sample packs because it’s perfect to just try things before you buy them!
It tastes a little like cotton candy, which was an unexpected but not unwelcome flavor.
This was the tea that – for me – started it all. I first tried this at a party held in UTM’s tea salon, selecting it from their vast tea menu after much deliberation. I am not sorry I did. It has a smooth caramel taste that is an absolute delight. I brought some home to enjoy, and now I am hopelessly addicted to loose leaf tea.
