did you notice a caffeine difference between the higher and lower temp brews? that was going to be my next experiment.

Ricky

Hmm, I don’t recall. I would assume a higher temp would give off more caffeine. The flavors are the same though.

shoot…I was hoping the white chocolate with the mint might be more mindblowing than the white chocolate with cashew. The latter one didn’t get much of a reaction from me. At least it’s a mint vanilla tea…and decaf:)

Ricky

It’s honestly not a bad tea, but I’m just getting the same reaction from the walnut tea. White chocolate is suppose to make the tea sweettttt!

even after you flipped it over and unwound the cord? mine’s just long enough that way – i wish it was a wee bit longer though

LiberTEAS

I actually do think that the shorter cord would be a convenience, because my kettle right now has a very long cord that really gets in the way.

Cofftea

HAHA! Yes, I definitely laugh when I see that I or others drink cookies, brownies, and teaware. I definitely think these things need to be here, but current implementation just doesn’t cut it.

Ricky

Seems you all love the short cord. I had to double check to see if the cord was still wound up at the base, but it turns out it wasn’t.

People have to start logging teaware so they can drink some more teaware :D

Joel Massey

Thx for the review. I’ve been wanting one. Good to hear from a user.

Ricky

You won’t be disappointed with it =D

The only teeny issue I do have with it is that I seem to waste tea leaves with this. I have to brew a 16oz cup so I rarely if ever re-steep.

Cofftea

I agree Ricky, I think it needs to be 8- although that would still be a crap load of pu erh lol:)

Ashley Bain

I read that the short cord is a safety precaution; otherwise I would find this really annoying, but to know that kiddies won’t be able to pull this by the cord off the counter and burn themselves with boiling water makes me happy.

Cofftea

I was told that now no model changes are planned (I was originally told they’d be about a year from the original product launch which would have been this past May). So sadly I have no idea when I will get mine.

Good idea! And a nice succinct review :)

Adham

I’ve been using mine for about six or seven years now and so can testify to its longevity!

Dan

Its a great way to make tea, I have two. I have had both for about a year now.

Ricky

Woah six, seven years! We have a winner! Did they ever change the design of it?

Alannah

I’ve had mine for a good 4 years now too (but I wash between uses—too many tiny bits get stuck in the mesh)… love it! I’ve never had the filter pop out unexpectedly either.

teabird

I think there’s a certain amount a variation in filter sizes, which is why some people’s pop out and some don’t. When I bought my ingenuiTEA, I bought a spare filter, figuring I’d need the replacement eventually. Well, the original filter fits fine, and I’ve never had problems, but the other one fits loosely and likes to pop out of place if I pour the water wrong :( So, after about 3 years I’m still using the original filter, even though it’s all stained.

Alex S.

Just used mine for the first time!!! SO AMAZING! I live in a fraternity house, though, which means that the only dishwasher we have is a high-temp sanitizer (I’m worried about my ingenuiTEA melting in there). When you guys wash it by hand, do you use soap, or just rinse it out with water?

Alannah

I use soap on mine.

Ricky

I don’t think it’ll melt, but I could be wrong. Try to put the filter and the lid in the sanitizer to test it first if anything. I generally rinse it and at the end of the week use soap or throw it into the dish washer.

Alex S.

Thanks guys!

I agree w/ your last sentence… well as far as Chinese sencha goes. Japanese is so much better in my book.

Interesting! I was wondering how this one was. So you’d rec Samovar’s instead?

Ricky

Definitely! This just isn’t strong enough for my liking. Rishi Golden Yunnan was pretty darn good today.
