I finally decided to order some Butiki teas, after hearing such wonderful things about them on here. When putting through my order, I forgot to request my two free samples and sent Stacy an email to see if I could still add them. She was kind enough to do so for me, and even included another free sample in my order! :) So thank you, Stacy!

Pistachio Ice Cream is the first tea I tried out of the entire order. The dry leaf smells fantastic – very creamy and definitely reminiscent of ice cream, which is what inspired me to try it before any of the others!

Unfortunately, once brewed I found that I could taste nothing but the green tea, maybe a little bit of pistachio, and no creaminess at all. The ice cream scent of the dry leaves just didn’t translate to the cup, despite following the brewing instructions exactly. On the second steep, I detected a bit more of the creaminess, but the flavour was rather weak overall.

That being said, the taste of the green tea is lovely – it’s a nice, vegetal green. I’m just really not tasting the pistachio ice cream flavour that everyone else seems to be enjoying, and that smelled so wonderful in the package. Perhaps I just need to try it again with a couple tweaks. I will definitely revisit this one, and hopefully my opinion will change!
